I can understand people feeling that but for me there’s nothing normal about segregating what freedom people have based on whether they’ve had a vaccine or not.



True, but for most countries tourism, requiring a health passport in the next 18 months would mean utter ruin, it’s not viable and nobody would be able to go. It’s not just tourism either, it wouldn’t work in many aspects.

Maybe it'll become the new normal in the short to medium term. Because it's already 'utter ruin'. And maybe that's the only way the Amex will have a full house again anytime soon. Not got a health passport (or equivalent)? You're not coming in

The Amex will only be fully open when we get to Tier Zero - which will by definition mean the NHS is easily coping, infection rates are almost zero, deaths and hospitalisations rare and a very large % of the adult population (including all those likely to get seriously ill) will have been vaccinated. There won’t be any need to even show a certificate IMO.

It’s international travel that’s going to need certificates I reckon.

will it? lets see, weigh up covid passport and exclusion of the minority of refusnicks, or more waves of covid infection following holiday seasons. they've been telling people to isolate this past year, so a covid passport seems easy option.

Next they’ll be saying Covid comes out of your ears so everyone will have to wear earplugs when they go out.

Then there’ll be some new law about the amount of time you’ll be allowed to spend outside your town and so on and so.

Exponentially or not the facts are the cases are growing. This will continue the pressure on the NHS which is already near breaking point. This is why restrictions need to be tightened until at least the end of March. IF and it's a big if cases are reducing and the pressure on the NHS is starting to reduce perhaps we can think about moving back to a toughened up tier system.

I don't enjoy this at all, I'd prefer it never happened but I'm determined we don't let any more people due than is absolutely necessary. Already 100k too much and rising with the worst to come.

Only one motto that matters in the short term.

Stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives. It really cannot be clearer.

I have stayed at home for 10 months and am continuing to stay at home, and being nagged at, either by you or by the government, does not help.

With due respect you're not bring nagged at by me, I'm just demonstrating an opinion on the forum of the club I support. Perhaps you should take some time off this board if you don't like my opinion.

Let's face it, we have different ambitions. You want to ensure that no-one ever dies of coronavirus, and I want to live life as I believe it is intended to be lived. The two are not compatible. I have maintained good discipline so far but I do not intend to maintain "good discipline" if and when the population has been vaccinated and the virus offers no more threat than tuberculosis or flu. Your idea of wiping out the virus by isolation will not work.
