Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Dicsussion Thread

Well I clicked on the photos and the first one said "I feel so upset. 2 nurses who were in ITU in Swansea have died today. 3 more still ventilated. All from the same unit. My heart is breaking."

So nothing about non Covid deaths being recorded as Covid. So exactly what are you claiming? Who said what?

Jeez really? You have to click on the image to see the whole picture. If you had you’d have seen this. If you actually check the other 9 or so you will see different accounts supporting the false claims of covid death from family members.

The BBC and Sky might be saying that (I’m not sure they are from what I just read) but I think quite a lot has changed. A huge amount of the workforce will have to go back to work, we can drive distances for “exercise” with our families and sty all day long if we wish. I can meet a mate down the park as long as we stay 2m apart.

Seems a pretty big change to where we’ve been to me?

I'm pretty sure he didn't say anything about meeting others? Or did I miss that?!

I'm pretty sure that meeting your mates down the park isn't now acceptable?

Also, I really don't see how a huge amount of the workforce will now be remobilised, I guess some will be, but relatively small amount?

So what I'm hoping you've learned from this, is that people on FB lie, and you can't trust their posts as facts.

Blimey.. Sadiq Khan says the new rules are CLEAR. Whatever next?

[tweet]1259586780115931139[/tweet]
He's just been forced to clarify as Mayor of London.

The government are all over the place. More to do with highly inexperienced politicians in place rather than politics. Brexit although unrelated led to that.

or to put it in context... which then shows it was clearly not a lie, but a clear statement of the need and ambition to expand our testing capabilities even further:

Boris Johnson said:
And if we are to control this virus, then we must have a world-beating system for testing potential victims, and for tracing their contacts.

So that – all told - we are testing literally hundreds of thousands of people every day.

We have made fast progress on testing – but there is so much more to do now, and we can.

Sorry for your loss. I hope things are going as well as they can in the circumstances.

The sad thing is he was 1 of 4 to have died so far in the nursing home and more have it. I don't think they have it under control in nursing homes.

So everyone should try and go back to work if they can't work from home.. does that mean all shops can open apart from coffee shops or any hospitality dwelling?.

Yes, if you can avoid public transport if at all possible and your employer has made a COVID secure work environment.

Not mandatory, but encouraged to do so.

NO - the list of retail outlets that are / are not allowed to be open has not changed. It will still only be things like food / hardware / garages, etc.

I'm pretty sure he didn't say anything about meeting others? Or did I miss that?!

Yes - puzzled me too. Don't know where the BBC have got that from.

Dont be a ****ing idiot, dont just take a phrase out of context "we are testing literally hundreds of thousands of people every day." and call it a massive lie.
It makes you look like a cretin.

Read the whole context

And to keep pushing the number of infections down there are two more things we must do.
We must reverse rapidly the awful epidemics in care homes and in the NHS, and though the numbers are coming down sharply now, there is plainly much more to be done.
And if we are to control this virus, then we must have a world-beating system for testing potential victims, and for tracing their contacts.

Its an aim or ambition you tw@t

Do you have an example you could share with us?

Google search first link.

https://www.buzzfeednews.com/articl...k-montana-coronavirus-covid-lockdown-protests

Here’s another:

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ship-removing-videos-criticize-shutdowns.html

And then there’s the Swedes of course...

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....onavirus-says-Britains-lockdown-gone-far.html

The most disturbing thing is that health care professionals that speak up against lockdown seems to be getting censored on social media. Freedom of speech has now gone for anyone not towing the WHO party line.

People in all forms of media lie. Did you read the other photos?
Yes. It's just a couple of comments on FB, it's zero evidence that the government are trying to cause the economy to crash.

And although your conjecture was clearly nonsense, the government have now advised that they want people to go back to work if they can. The opposite of trying to crash the economy.

Are you BeHereNow as well as Albion Dan? I noticed you answered a question directly aimed at him/her?

I think you’re getting confused. The fb post was nothing to do with the economy it was to do with covid deaths being stated without tests.

That's about a doctor in the US who is anti-vaccine, and claims that people are exaggerating the deaths in order to make Trump look bad. Er, ok love.

You realise there are thousands of doctors who disagree with her?

So Elon Musk is against lockdowns. So?

So they haven't said we've lied about the numbers then? Sweden is a very different country to the UK, and much less densly populated. How they've decided to go about things is not necessarily right for us. Why don't you quote what Germany have done? They have more in common with us, they've used a lockdown, and they've been much more successful in fighting the virus than Sweden. Why don't you quote them? Oh, it doesn't fit your agenda.

The most disturbing thing is that health care professionals that speak up against lockdown seems to be getting censored on social media. Freedom of speech has now gone for anyone not towing the WHO party line.
What nonsense. Who is being censored? We can all write what we think here for a start. I've certainly been outspoken against the WHO, and the posts haven't been deleted.
