Bloody hell. I hope he's exaggerating in the hope of waking people up to the dangers of missing cancer diagnosis and treatment. Failing that, I hope he's simply over-estimated. By a lot.

Bit of a dilemma for some. If the cancer isn't aggressive do you wait for treatment, because once you start you are very very vulnerable to the virus as your immune system will be shot if you're having chemo!

think theres some speculation and exaggeration in the number, however underlying point is that people are not seeking medical treatment, and there are significant impacts of that in medium and long term. NHS has not been swamped as feared, that was the original overriding concern.

Ignoring the apostrophe for a second, he didn't happen to mention what grade the GCSEs were did he? I doubt they'd have been considered standard passes.

You specifically said hospital. Maybe you should edit your post. Wouldn’t want to spread fake news would you?
It seems you've got that wrong, and that hospital deaths are all tested. Those outside of hospital are still counted in the statistics when the doctors dealing with the patient believe that they had Covid 19, so that was put on the death certificate. Are you suggesting we ignore what the doctors working with the patients say?
Falling for what? They're being open and telling us that the patients haven't been tested.
So you think that when the doctors say 'I think this patient has died prematurely because of Covid 19', we should just ignore them and not include the death in the statistics?
And for what purpose would the government exaggerate the statistics? To frighten the country into a lockdown that we don't need? A lockdown that isn't really that strict anyway (I've been out loads of times, to buy building materials etc). A lockdown that is costing the country billions, which the government would dearly love to keep.
What would be the point in all that?
Also bear in mind that it's only recently that the government have included deaths from outside of hospital, which completely goes against your argument that they're trying to talk up the problem.
