I was just thinking about the 1,000's of football fans who will be travelling around the country this week end, who are not the most renowned people for cleanliness, especially after a few pints.

...but back to this point briefly. I'd guess that weekends may slow down the transmission of the virus as people spend more time at home, relative to the week when people commute and spend time in offices and schools etc, interacting with lots of other people all day long.

This morning's commuter service from LA to London Bridge was far more sparsely populated than a normal Friday. There were spare seats all the way to East Croydon.

On the other hand weekends involve a different network which, though smaller, can accelerate transmission to new groups.

Why are people unable to read and understand the government health advice? Regarding Italy, everyone I have spoken to is under the impression that the advice is now to self isolate if you return from Italy. This is only the case if you return from one of the small towns in lockdown , or if you have symptoms. However, people seem to read the advice and then misinterpret it as a requirement to self-isolate if you return from anywhere in Italy regardless of symptoms.

The advice was always if you have symptoms.

But it's no longer just if you are coming from the north of Italy, it's now anywhere in Italy.

Going to hit 100,000 cases in the next day or so.

That's identified cases, I wonder what the number of actual cases could be.1,000,000?

Boris said yesterday more or less, we might as well accept 80% of us are going to get it and just it done with and crack on. I don't think it went down too well

In my local store this morning, a couple (late 30’s) wearing gloves FFS, were buying out the last loo rolls (5 packs of 9). I managed to ignore them but when they came out the guy was hooping and hollering and posing about while his wife took a video avec said loo rolls on his head.

I glared disdainfully, and they looked back as if I was a piece of sh*t.

They then jumped into a souped up Range Rover and buggered off.

Should I have;

1. Ignored them

2. Politely pointed out the error of their ways

3. Congratulated them on their entrepreneurial skill

4. Told them they were pathetic morons

5. Punched the guys lights out

Just before they jumped in their Chelsea tractor, I felt like actioning number 5

With who didn’t it go down too well?

Presumably those that voted him in still think he’s the bees knees?

As in the video I posted earlier, an eminent US academic focused on emerging infectious disease and pandemic preparedness said pretty much the same thing - we can't contain it as it spreads too easily..

Solid at the back, please do not read this post, it's not indicative of the rest of the world, or how things will progress in Spain (or the US).

Spain's fatality rate is currently 62.5%
The USA's is 60.9%

The USA is going to get this really badly. The mess of a President is making sure of it, up to the individual states now to ignore him and take their own precautions.

Spain has 3 deaths from 261 cases. Not sure who's doing your maths.

45 dollars a test isn't it? Not sure how many of the population are going to be able to afford that.
