Newcastle will hold a minute's silence ahead of the Uefa Cup clash with Real Mallorca as a mark of respect to the victims of the bombings in Madrid.
The game has been given the go-ahead by Uefa despite calls from the four Spanish clubs involved in the competition for their ties to be postponed.
A club spokesman said: "We feel it is appropriate to register their sincere condolences to the Spanish people following the terrible events which unfolded in Madrid this morning.
"Despite requests for a postponement from all four Spanish clubs who will play this evening, Uefa have told both Newcastle and Real Mallorca that the games must go ahead as planned.
"Newcastle are supportive of the collective request of the four Spanish clubs and share the deep feelings of grief being suffered by the people of Spain.
"As a mark of respect, we will hold a minute's silence before the match this evening."
