Without suggesting they are the murderers,I have no firm opinion either way,they have got away with Criminal Neglect,with total disregard for the safety of their children and it seems their "set" were culpable in that neglect.
If for no other reason they have spent 6 years in denial getting friends in the media to spend shitloads of other peoples money trying to correct their error.

You're right, they did get away with criminal neglect which, if discovered in this country would probably have led to a prosecution. Don't think anyone would forgive them for that, least of themselves. However, the fact remains that there is a little girl missing. She may be dead or she may have been abducted. Recent cases in the US show how long some girls were missing for before being discovered. If it was your child, how soon would you give up?

Criminal neglect? I've known people who would put their children to bed in their own house and be further away that where they were in relation to Maddie, whilst being in the same building.

Good parents never make mistakes. Bad parents do. Or something...
