I reckon both sets of fans would respond positively to some sort of brief presentation to Macca before the game. Have always personally found Scousers to be very fair in that respect

Other teams have welcomed their world cup winner onto the pitch pre match, think its appropriate to do the same. Not sure why anyone would be against that. Its a player we want to keep at the club, and its not like we commonly have world cup winners playing for us.
