183-7 Wells 68 not out so yet again a Top Order batsman is going to run out of partners - why do we always start the season batting so badly?

As a confussed Albion fan who was born in Surrey and a Rey fan I am quite happy.
Went on Friday to The Oval, Gatting batted well and was well supported by Anyon. Sussex did well to get back in the game but the partnership of Hamilton Brown and Maynard really won the game for The Rey.
One point I was suprised at; was when The Rey tail was batting Sussex quicks just kept on bowling short and the 50 odd run partnership between Meaker and Lewis could and should have been avoided.
