These players clearly don't believe anymore, questions have to be asked about how the management have got the batting side so wrong - not just this season but for the past two or three seasons. I feel sorry for the bowlers who have had virtually no help whatsoever from the batsmen for the best part of 5 months.
Let us sing sad songs round the camp fire as the inevitable happens
Spot on, it's been a accident waiting to happen for at least 2, maybe 3 years. Yes, we have a ridiculous number of injuries to our bowlers this year but our poor batting meant we were treading a tightrope as it was.
Time to move on from Robinson.
Will be good to play some different teams next year, challenge for promotion and spend some time being more positive about our players as they enjoy relative success in the easier waters of Div Two.
Best explanation I heard about the effect of the two divisions was that the bottom 4 in Div One and the top 4 in Div Two are not usually that different in standard but as a decent Div Two team you get 6 fixtures at this standard plus 10 other fixtures against the weakest 5 counties. These are where you find a world of difference - e.g. contrast Yorkshire's attack in this game with that of a Div Two basement outfit.
However has it not changed to only one promotion place next season?
Sad thing is if the top order had shown any fight we could well have done this. Unfortunately they were shite as they have been most of the season. Relegation will be good for us in the sense that we will get rid of Robbo and a fair few others who are past their sell by date.
