[Albion] Luton Town vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

The players have been f***ing DISGRACEFUL tonight. Something is really wrong.

Subs have come on and done the following:
Lamptey - misses open goal
Moder - can't control a ball in the air. When he does he can't find a player of his own
Baleba - fouling then diving
Ferguson - looks slower than Gross and heavier than Igor
Jack - apart from when he passes back to Steele, even he is giving the ball away!

JPVH is beyond Dogshit. Igor is terrible. The biggest tell tell sign is how bad Gross is being virtually all the time

The players, manager have completely believed their own hype. I don't even expect a reaction on Saturday.
But did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln

I've strongly suspected RDZ as being tactically inept when it comes to defending, but tonight confirms it.

The man does not know how to set up a solid defense.

Our defensive display has been utterly embarrassing to be fair.

I have faith that he will improve this aspect of his management though - today will hopefully have been a HUGE lesson to RDZ.

Standard Ferguson this season unfortunately, he’s been so poor. He looked a bit sharper on Saturday, as did the team generally, so I really hoped he was turning it round but back to shit tonight.

Yes I know he’s only 19 etc.
He really needs to play more but I can understand why he doesn't as he is still very much learning his trade and has far more experienced players ahead of him

Struggling to disagree with any of that

Thank goodness Hesgoal stream has finally packed up for me.

From RDZ post match interview all I want to hear is something like " a shocking performance and we can only apologise to the fans ". That's all we need and please no sulky stuff or hints at not being backed.

We dust ourselves off and go again Saturday and see how good " this group" really is. The way to beat us is not rocket science and West Ham showed the way prior to tonight. Fortunately knowing the plan is one thing but executing it is quite another.

You lasted this long?
I've never bailed on a game before full time (home/away/TV/stream) but I turned off at half time
Well...I still thought an early 2nd half goal might just give us a little foothold, and give them a bit of a rattle. But I was catastrophically wrong.

I think I'll just open that bottle of Cockburns still loafing about in the cupboard from Christmas, and survey the online aftermath.

Would be interesting if the players went to fans after the match (like Newcastle).

For losing at Luton ? Where do I apply for several decades of shit away performances a lot further away than Luton ?
Me too, but we didn’t have £50k in the bank all year back then, never mind paying one player per week that. Different times, and other clubs have set such precedence in the PL. It’s spare change really so as said players could do themselves a favour if wanted to. Their prerogative.

Can we get Hughton back as defensive coach 😂

De Zerbi’s comments after the game will be very interesting.
If he takes responsibility and says he got it wrong, then fair enough.
If however, as I think may happen, he starts to make excuses and complain about recruitment then I think that’s unacceptable.
We can’t be brilliant on Saturday and woeful 3 days later and then blame the recruitment, injuries blah blah blah. We didn’t suddenly become a bad team in 3 days.
