That's inevitable. This season's much loved squad will be rejigged with quite a few new players, and people falling down the pecking order. It's either that or be outclassed and relegated.

The problem i have is that Sidwell gave more this season than Kayal ( injured i know ...but )........Norwood,i have no idea.......!!!

Agree, Sidwell was a star in batches of games, belying his age and Kayal never hit his heights of 2015/16. Did Norwood flop overall? Everytime he started or came on as a sub, there was a collective sigh in the parts of the Amex I sat in.

What a RIDICULOUS post. Even if he plays exactly the same role as Sidwell or Norwood (he doesn't, btw), then signing a BETTER player in the same role quite obviously improves the team.

Its like saying we have a striker, so signing another one can't improve the team.

Apologies, thought I was on NorthStandChat where you post your own opinion and others discuss. Don't agree with me fine but you start your reply with "Ridiculous" suggests your not open to someone having a different opinion to you by trying to ridicule that opinion.Stand by what I said.

Absolutely brainless. A player with 340 appearances for a perennial top 6 team is now not as good as Sidwell, Norwood and Loftus-Cheek (who has played about 5 games for Chelsea).

Christ some of our fans are thick.

What an intelligent reply of ours.Gave my opinion, you don't agree, so that makes me brainless.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous posts I've seen on here, and there's a lot of competition. You quote one Liverpool fan, who is clearly as clueless as you, and then suggest he would be no different to Sidwell and Norwood, when he clearly is different (and much better).

Because you don't agree with it does not make it ridiculous...my opinion..nothing like a NS CHAT...

Liverpool have the same togetherness as we have they are all hugs and hi fives before the game and at the end of the game they all ways do the same no matter what the result sound like he would fit in well and a premier league player with tons of experience

Debating with you in polite manner, can't you see that Lucas is a far better player than our current defensively minded midfielders, Stephens aside? Sidwell has done a great job and he use to run midfields, but he's at an age where he won't start most PL games if we have a strong squad. Lucas has played 100's of games for Liverpool and Brazil, playing the unglamorous role of shielding his centre backs, passing to creators or filling in at CB during injury crises.

Shirley he would be a great addition for PL newcomers the Albion?

I think some people are loosing the plot. Lucas would be the best CM in our squad if he were to join. The only person who comes close is Sidwell in terms of experience and PL games played, however he's much older and won't be a regular starter for us next season if he does sing. Stephens is class, but at Championship level lets be realistic, he's never played a Premier Leauge match let alone 300 of them as per Lucas. Kayal has also been class for us in the past, but lets be honest and say that this season he was our 3rd choice CM'er when fit, and his end of season form has put a question mark over his head for me. Norwood can go out on loan next season as if he couldn't secure a place in the Championship, he's unlikely to in the Prem.

To summerise, I'd be happy with a midfield roster of Lucas, Stephens, Kayal, Sidwell and Norwood, in that order. I'd suck my own dick on Facebook live if we binned Norwood and singed Cairney to add to our list.

Easy to Speculate

New rumour:

Lucas has just got his coaching badges and is expected to be in Liverpool's 25 man squad at the start of next season.

This means that Kevin Stewart is surplus to requirements and Danny Ings may be looking for pastures new. Both of which are of no interest to southern clubs.

tommy smith from hudders according to the sun

He would be very useful as an under 21 player, but Elvis Manu gave him a bit of trouble in the home game.
