If the upcoming season is exactly your 9th consecutive season at the AMEX as a STH, it's spot on.

How does that work then? I've had a ST since Amex opened and I've only got 253
You have 200 points for being a STH since the Amex opened and last season you had 106 home cup/away match points which are now halved

If it helps anyone gauge where they are from my total it is 265 points
AMEX Season Ticket for last 3 seasons
Attended most home cup games in last 3 seasons
Attended at least 10 away games each season over last 4 seasons

Don't they take off points for being a season ticket holder last year, half the balance then add it to this years season ticket points.

Yes they do
Last season 190 STH now replaced by 200
So if you have 253 now in the example this is 200 STH and 53 match points - last season would have finished with 190 STH and 106 match points. The 106 is halved and the 190 is now 200 = 253
