Louis Theroux: Miami Mega Jail tonight at 9pm on BBC 2...this man is an investigative journalism god!

After the Grand Prix and the imminent Survival Sunday, looking forward to capping it off with Theroux and then last MOTD of the season.

I like him as he does ask some really awkward questions in an unassuming way

Agreed, this man NEVER does a shit documentary!

The one he did about the big game Trophy hunting was pretty poor I thought. Once it became clear that the centre doing it were actually very beneficial to the animals (as they could control population numbers unlike poachers) and that they used all the meat they shot anyway it didn't really have much point. Louis rightly asked why people would want to shoot animals for trophies, but it was a very pointless exercise.

Anyway, other than that he's amost always essential viewing and tonight's sounds especially good. Didn't know it was a two-parter - that's three hour long specials he's done in about a month isn't it?

I do like his documentaries but sometimes he does set out with a clear agenda. Fair enough he only does it when the subject matter is racist scum or total nutters but I still prefer documentaries that remain completely impartial and non-judgemental like Ross Kemp does, or in a way Bruce Parry (accepting that his documentaries are a totally different style)

Should still be a good watch though :)

Those US jails are are certainly not for the faint hearted.

I recall Metallica doing the video for the song ST Anger at San Quentin and they had to sign a waiver acknowledging that if the inmates took them hostage the US govt would not be playing ball!

Is it the Dade County prison does anyone know? I drove past this place just outside Miami when I was on holiday once, and the place is massive. Much bigger than any jails over here. Would be interested to see inside that's all. If not I'll still be watching.

Nope, Miami County Jail which is for people awaiting trial as opposed Prison which is where you go if convicted in the USA

Always look forward to Louis' programmes...such a great way of getting answers out of his subjects..

Not sure he has an agenda, I actually think although he naturally has preconceptions, he makes an effort not to judge...he's very rarely personal or imposes his own feelings unless he's pushed.
