I've cut down a lot since Camelot changed the rules. Who plays the lottery to win a free lucky dip?? My issues is not only with the odds increasing of winning the top prize (14.5m to 45m), but also increasing on the 3 numbers and you still only win £25. Plus they cut the £20k prizes down too. I wish someone else would run it.

Last time ever I'll do Lotto. More chance of Sunderland winning a game.

You may all think I`m mad but I would not like to win that much. £5k,£50k great. £57m no thanks.

Never understood why people think this

If you don't want the extra above the amount you'd be happy with, you can always give the rest to charity and it could make a massive difference to a lot of people / animals (or whatever your charity choice(s) are) - Just think how much good it could do

Can you seat me next to some lefty/socialist types as there is nothing more enjoyable than being lectured and patronised all evening (+ they're more likely to share out the poppadoms equally).

Come on, you know you'd LOVE IT, sat next to me :lolol:

Why do you get all these academics pointing out the bloody obvious all the time:nono:
One line or 30 lines it's all about luck at the end of the day.

Now it's a mere 1 in 7mill chance rather than the 1 in 45mill I'm obviously ALL IN

I'm no mathematician but if I had £14 million pound spare I could buy 7 million tickets therefore guaranteeing a return of £57 million?

I guess I would need to hope the prize isn't shared ? But even then I would also have a lot of tickets paying out on other prizes 4 numbers etc ?

Btw I don't have £14 million but there must be some syndicate who has thought of this ?

Apparently the jackpopt hasnt been won since they increasded the number to 59. Last night there were 4 numbers in the 50s. I still do the same numbers as since day one. What I dont understand is now that it has reached £50m why not have 5 draws of £10m on Saturday re drawing as needed until you get 5 winners. It takes seconds for them to get the details of any winners up.

Exactly and seconds to ensure a roll over too.

If only it worked like this (and you already had a lot of money).

The initial problem is that just because the odds are now 7 million to 1 it does not mean you are guaranteed to win by buying exactly 7 million tickets. Secondly, the reason the odds are shorter is because you could potentially win the jackpot without getting all 6 numbers. However, if you buy 7 million tickets and the best you get is 5 numbers and the bonus ball but somebody else gets all 6 numbers then you would not win the jackpot and hence lose £7,000,000.

Most people would be set for life with £10m but in my case £1m would set my wife and but not leave a vast amount for the children. where £10m would. We could still have our £1m and give the family £9m.

Yes but out of the 7 million tickets you purchased you would also win a lot of other smaller prizes?

Let's be honest, they have broken it. 44million different combinations of numbers and only 22 million tickets sold. Many are duplicates of other selections, many have stuck to their original numbers which include none over 49 and many have stuck to birthdays in the family so only go up to 31. Plus they have added the stupid raffle - does anyone ever check it? OK I'll buy 5 lucky dips for Saturday and we'll probably have a one-off syndicate at work, but I bet I'm no more wealthy on Monday than Saturday!
