My point is that 5 people could be set for life as opposed to 1 winning £50m who could never spend it in any form of senible behaviour and spending.

But that could include buying property, art, etc. So they may have spent it all but have items / assets that they could potentially sell and turn back into cash if needed - I doubt anyone who won several million on the lottery just rented somewhere after that rather than buying somewhere outright
