Hither (sometimes Thither)
PS. He has been CHARGED, which means the Police believe he has committed the crime and they, with the CPS, believe they have sufficient evidence to gain a conviction. The jury decide the rest. That is the legal system we have here but, if like Meade's Ball, you'd like the MEDIA or layman internet forums like this one to deliver 'justice', who am I to argue with your beliefs.

you what?
I don't want fools from the internet or newspapers to imprison somebody. I want nothing but a jury to decide who is guilty or innocent. I have no idea whether this singing chap has anything to do with this potential crime and I wouldn't cast judgement for a second on him other than his whiny music.
Kindly don't paint me as a symbol of reactionary wigless judges the country over.

Some of the rest of your piece was interesting, but the misreading was mildly insulting. Tut.

Yeah... that's the other thing with conspiracy, it's very hard to prove because a lot of the time no crime has occurred. The evidence needs to be clear and simple.

I recently sat on a jury which was deadlocked 8-3 in favour of acquittal in a conspiracy case which was, to be fair, a f***ing farce. Unfortunately, the three who were finding "guilty" said they thought he was guilty because of "how he was sat" in the dock before they even knew what the charges were. Well that and the defendant was Asian and the three jurors which made racial comments during the consideration.

For example, a woman hires a hitman to kill her husband; the prosecution are likely to convict if they can prove and/or demonstrate a) she paid him, b) he was known by her to be a hitman when she paid him and c) there was motive for her to want her husband dead.

With this case, if it goes to trial, the prosecution will have to prove

a) he is a sexual predator, and establish a "pattern of behaviour" to convince jurors of this - this goes to motive
b) this wasn't "fantasy", i.e. he was specifically planning the crime with an intended victim in mind, and the police have evidence of this (text messages, taped phone calls, anecdotal evidence)
c) that the witnesses are credible. The defence will argue that he sleeps with a lot of women and uses them for one night stands (not illegal) and this naturally upsets the young slappers (not illegal) - so they make up all kinds of malicious lies and allegations about him which have lead to this trial.

Stuff like those comments on that forum would never be allowed into the court by the judge as they are extremely prejudicial, could've been written by anyone with any motive and prove absolutely nothing.

Incidentally, I've never heard of the band or the singer, I'm just offering a little bit of balance to the outrageous witch hunt comments being posted by the neanderthals. Cheers.

Spot on with the bit about conspiring, however if it was done via the internet, there is likely to be logs of the conversations etc. The possession of images is much more clear cut though. You either have them or you don't.

Harrowing story, as well as him the 2 mothers freely offering their kids to him. Disturbing is hardly a strong enough word for this case.
