And I thought it an effective gesture. I can think of at least a couple of times in my career when managers have ripped up a document in front of a meeting to get a point across about things needing to change. It gets the point across much more vividly than just muttering a few platitudes about having to do better.

All that kind of stuff is a fine line. In an early Liverpool game, Klopp turned up in a Beatles T-shirt for the press conference which got a positive reaction from the Liverpool faithful. He's one of us and all that.

Just imagine if Brendon Rogers or Roy Hodgson had done likewise? They would have been absolutely crucified. Some people can get away with Beatles T-shirts and others can't. Can Fab get away with setting stuff on fire to make a point? Don't know but setting those tactics on fire is certainly something anyone watching the Forest game could get behind.

What I'd really like to know is if Dunk reacted by punching the wall and shouting "Let's kill those Chelsea wankers" or was sat there thinking he'd post the ancedote on the bell cheeses at work thread.

Do you believe this is really a thing?
That consumate professionals like Dunk and Welbeck wouldn’t try in a game, to spite the manager?
Imo our senior players would give their all even if they have no faith in the manager whatsoever.
They are good people and responsible professionals.
What does “losing the dressing room” even mean?
" Losing the dressing room " - in Selhurst Parks case the answer would be a bulldozer.

I’ve seen many interviews and read in autobiographies about losing the dressing room being a very real thing.

Elite sport requires 100% commitment with every run, every touch, every 50/50. You earn the right to control games by applying these principles of intensity.

If 3-4 - or more - players aren’t giving 100% tracking back when they’re supposed to, not thinking about their position, or their first touch, it decides a match.

Most recently I saw Ben Foster speaking about this on YouTube, how Pepe Mel lost the dressing room at West Brom and one of his coaches essentially took training and he was just a figurehead.

The most curious thing..
Apparently I had insulted students for being lazy rote-learning oaves who don't listen to advice.
What can I say?
That may have been true, but I'm not convinced it's positive or motivational, unless you regard a kick up the arse as being a positive way of motivating the idle, timewasting, snowflakey, lippy, ignorant, workshy sods.

What, like Christian Gross with his underground ticket? Maybe Hurzeler could wave his matchday pass on the monorail..................

Apologies if fixtures, but just to add to Naylor's reporting, Joel told the club website: "The week we had, honestly, team spirit-wise, it was amazing. Maybe in training, the best week ever. Quality-wise, intensity-wise, exactly what the gaffer wanted after the Forest result. And it paid off in the game." https://www.brightonandhovealbion.c...terviews-bhache-emirates-fa-cup-february-2025
You won't persuade many on here.
Fabby has lost the virtual NSC dressing room
(the one with the bench of entitlement, the liniment of unrealistic expectation, and the sauna of petulant wankpuffinry).
