Is it that you've not eaten enough in the day, so you're hungry, or are you snacking out of boredom, or something else?

I’m in, quick tip for everyone glass of water with spoonful of apple cider vinegar before main meal (it tastes horrible but just down it in one)supposedly stops carbs being digested fully. Want to lose 10kg more then im going up in a Spitfire (my treat for losing 20kg)

Only if it's a high carb meal, right?

Habit probably. Definitely not bored, I've never suffered from that, not enough hours in the day for interests.

Some evidence now that full fat dairy products are not unhealthier, might in fact be healthier. Something to do with its more filling and therefore an appetite suppressor. The former MP Tom Watson lost a shedload of weight with a similar aspect to his new daily dietary regime.

Some evidence now that full fat dairy products are not unhealthier, might in fact be healthier. Something to do with its more filling and therefore an appetite suppressor.

Well if eating a bit of full fat dairy does suppress your appetite, then that would be fine and people eating full fat dairy would not be overweight. I'm guessing that's not working for a lot of people though. Proper 0 fat Greek yoghurt for me please.

I see he radically changed his diet, cutting out processed food, sugars, and a lot of carbs. If going that far, then having some full fat dairy is probably nothing in comparison.

He drank a special Bulletproof Coffee as his brunch, it contains a fair amount of fat, suppressing his appetite.

Anyone fancy joining me in trying to lose half a stone in November? A bit of pre-Christmas discipline.

All you have to do is post your weight change on here each day in November. No need to fess up your current weight, unless you want to. Just the running total loss (or gain).

A bit of accountability and support could really help.

I think this is a rather novel idea ! I like the idea of the target being 7lbs.

My only concerns are that those participating understand......this isn't a competition to lose the most weight.

I really need to lose about 30lbs, so 7lbs will be much easier for me to attain than those who only have 8 or 9 lbs to lose.

Good luck to all those giving it "a go".

It does occur to me that should I locate some scales and have my first weigh in after a blow out ruby and a few pints I can easily beat this target before lunchtime the next day.
Anyhow my mother is an incorrigible commenter on peoples weight and has contributed to several others developing eating disorders in her time so I'll get an uncannily accurate summary of any more meaningful loss or gain from her

Spot on ... as I've mentioned in one of the other similar threads, it's sugar, carbs and processed foods that's the big issue. If you can cut those out, you're more than half way there. On a recent holiday in Greece I found 10% fat Greek yoghurt. It was amazing and I had it most days with lovely fresh strawberries and a drizzle of Greek honey.

On a recent holiday in Greece I found 10% fat Greek yoghurt. It was amazing and I had it most days with lovely fresh strawberries and a drizzle of Greek honey.

We have that yogurt, most evenings I take it with a few strawberries and grapes. Delicious.

Thanks for that didn’t know you could reverse type 2 diabetes just thought you could reverse early on set. Gives me even more inspiration to lose more weight. I have to admit Tom’s outcomes matches mine - stopped needing a wee a night and less frequent during the day, sleeping better, stopped snoring, not as short tempered, feel fitter, want to do more exercise (pace walking at present aim to start runs once I've lost more), feel less likely to fall asleep during boring meetings. I like Tom I will admit I’m a sugar addict but it didn’t take long to get out of the addiction. Now I’ve got to find a recipe for almond bread!
My sugar addiction is purely chocolate. I’ve been doing pretty well the last 5/6 months - with the occasional lapse which I quickly correct. It’s worth reading up on Dr Michael Mosley’s approach including intermittent fasting and HIIT.

My main exercise is walking as I had to give up running many years ago due to an annoying reoccurring calf injury. I try to include hills in all my walks and power up them.

I'm in too. Combination of a sweet tooth (milk chocolate/cinnamon cakes particularly), habit, and occasional comfort eating coupled with a relatively sedinatary lifestyle means I could do with losing at least a stone so 7lbs seems like a good start. Hopefully the encouragement and support from NSC will help me!

Add me to the ‘In’ list. I’ve put on over three stone since damaging my knee in the Dublin Marathon a few years ago and having to give up running. Need to reverse the bad habits.
