Weight plateaus are definitely a thing. When I've set out to lose a few stone there has always been a three week period where it doesn't move. Mostly around the 13 stone 2 mark for me.

Absolutely plateauing is a thing, but not because your body is storing. It's because at the start of a diet you burn glycogen and lose water. After that you'll need to burn muscle/fat and as you lose weight you'll burn fewer calories so your deficit will become lower.

People have claimed your body goes into 'starvation mode' and I'm pretty sure that's not a thing unless you are seriously underweight and starving.

The point is, you don't need a day off each week. If it works for you (and others), to keep you motivated, that's fine, but your body doesn't need it. I dread to think how many calories people could put away on a day off.

One I would add is that sometimes a need for hydration is interpreted as hunger.

I assume that's always the case, whether dieting or not.

Weighed in this morning at 89.9 kgs ( 14st 2lbs).

Target weight this month 86.6 kgs (13st 9lbs).

A bit disappointing as I have been averaging 90.4kgs last couple of weeks and breaking the 90 kgs was going to be my first target...Hmmmm.

Good luck to everyone participating and thankyou to Eeyore ? who reminded me of having a modest 'treat day' once a week. Worked really well for me many many years ago when I lost 20kgs over an 8 month period.

15st12lbs exactly or 100.7 kgs

I've lost about 8lbs in October. No specific weight goals. Planning on rewarding myself with new clothes once below 15 and hopefully size L rather than XL!

Target 82.55 kilos
Feels a bit daunting - not least with a big away trip tomorrow which, no doubt, will involve quite a lot of food and beer, but let's give it a go.

That’s what I’ve done last 6 months. XL down to L with L feeling comfortable and old XL clothes looking silly. 38” jeans down to 36” - which are also starting to feel loose. I bought a new Levi belt - not cheap - and already back down to the last notch. Loosing weight can be expensive … but I love it 😁
