Long Live The Dean Wilkins Era

An experienced journeyman centre-forward might be required, even if on loan for a couple of months.
Spot on, and this has been the case since Noel-Williams went back - but we have muddled through and Revell has exceeded initial expectations so has masked that need for a while. However, Brighton fans now have new expectations of our forwards like Revell and Robinson that are higher than the ones we had in August - and they will not match those without greater help from an older pro.

With no new faces bought in, he's pushed the youth players up - most of whom look like they are going to turn into very good players. Remember - we have a team of kids, you have to think that's a hinderance as much as it's good to be seeing young players emerge.

Our football is more fluid than under McGhee, you can tell a better coach (not Manager, that's still to be proved) is in charge.

He has us in the position I imagined we'd be in so is doing no worse than I could have figured. Considering the circumstances this is more of a compliment than it sounds.

4 loans. Whing has now gone. Has Bowditch goen as well?

McGhee bought in players like Knight, Currie, Carole etc on permanent deals.

There's not really a comparison is there?

OK, so let's get this straight, DW secured loans of Whing, John, Bowditch and O'Caeurill who are on the books of Coventry, Charlton, Ipswich and Arsenal respectively...a quick check of the league tables will reveal that all those teams are considerably higher than the Albion. I accept that not all of the 4 are in consideration for a first team place, except maybe Whing, but the fact that they are on the books of those clubs should suggest that they are at least decent prospects.

Now, we all know that the club is not flush with cash to make permanent signings, surely the fact that we are able to attract decent players on loan is a positive...come on guys, surely there is a glimmer of hope out there.

We only have one player on loan at present. What we had last month is gone.
