Long Live The Dean Wilkins Era

Well in the second half I thought Robinson's movement was pretty good, he was often making himself available for through balls that never came. Their recent lean spell is a slight concern but they'll come good imo.

What worries me more is the defence - theoretically we have some good players, Hinsh, Butters, Lynch, Rents, Mayo, Whing when he was here, Henderson or Kuipers, but all season we have been letting in sloppy goals (under both managers), and that has cost us a lot of times. We can't close out a game when we're ahead, or dig in when we're under pressure.

Alan your happy with 4 points off div 4, what I find so ironic is the abus McGhee did when he was doing much worse and with Willkins he can do no wrong with you, you would still back him if/when he took us to the conference

If this is a good job I dred to think what its going to be like when hes doing a bad job. If we lose many more in a row we will be looking at a relegation battle. He hasn't done anything special at all for us yet.

Well Wilkins has inherited a shit squad left by Mcghee.Under Mcghee the club has been slowly declining on the squad front for a couple of seasons now.It will take a season or two to steady the ship and i can't wait untill the summer when Wilkins can have a good clear out and bring new players in.We are in safe hands under Wilkins.Long may it continue.I'm not sure about Dean White or Chapman though

I refer the learned gentleman to our current form and downwardly spiraling league position....he isn't. And neither is DK. He has known for a while roughly how much cash was due from the WH game-wheels should have been in motion ages ago to bring in some new PERMANENT players.

Don't read that as calling for their heads-I'm merely questioning how good a job they're doing and the way things are at the moment suggests not very good.

We can't afford to wait until the summer to bring some new players in because our current squad is taking us down. It's that simple. They aren't good enough to keep us up.

Come the end of the season, I'll happily eat massive helpings of humble pie if the current squad keeps us up.

4 points out of the 4th relegation spot with more than half the season gone: we are already in a relegation battle no matter which way one tries to put a positive spin on things.

Well I wouldn't quite go that far yet, but we are playing concerningly shit at the moment. Wilkins doesn't seem to be able to get the players to bounce back like McGhee did.

It feels right to have Wilkins as a long term manager. I am prepared to be patient as I have faith he will bring glory days to this club in the long term.

The squad is young, and he insists we need to learn from all the experiences we experience, but it is not just the players because of their young age, Dean will also be learning too and I think it will help him develop better as a manager if he stayed with us.

I have utter faith we will be in the top flight in about 20 years time, and I believe Wilkins has the ability to get us like Curbishley did for Charlton.

UP THE ALBION:albion: :albion: :albion: :albion: :albion:

Could not have said it better myself.

I have total faith in DW #1 and can only see our club going forward. Must keep our players though if we are to succeed.

With no new faces bought in, he's pushed the youth players up - most of whom look like they are going to turn into very good players. Remember - we have a team of kids, you have to think that's a hinderance as much as it's good to be seeing young players emerge.

Our football is more fluid than under McGhee, you can tell a better coach (not Manager, that's still to be proved) is in charge.

He has us in the position I imagined we'd be in so is doing no worse than I could have figured. Considering the circumstances this is more of a compliment than it sounds.
