That's a shame. Possibly the last bastion of non-chavvishness in London Road to bite the dust.

Critical moment for London Road. Will the Co-Op site be done up like Hanningtons was, with designer outlets, or just allowed to rot?

RIP

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I bought a pair of primsoles there for £5 about 15 years back for an epic game of football down Pressie. I looked like a fat albino Cliff Richard, but there were sparkles in my toes.

Burgess Hill
my long departed grandmother used to go shopping there all the time, so it has a kind of bizarre place in my heart!

Shame. I wish now that I had shopped there more frequently. I bought some curtains from them about five years ago and a washing machine nearly 15 years ago.

Is it just the department store closing? Or is the supermarket part going as well? Although it's joined onto the main store it's a separate building built in the 1960s.

When I was a youngster, I used to go in there with my nan and my mum to meet Santa Claus and go to the toy department, absolute shame it is going to close next year.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
That area has been slowly allowed to degenerate into a ghetto of fast food shops, Cheque cashing joints and pawnbrokers.

I fear the battle for London Road was lost several years ago.
