To those who are saying Labour should 'do something', what exactly do you expect them to do? There is the group that are 'running' our country fighting amongst themselves (quite literally it appears) do you expect Starmer to walk into the cabinet room tomorrow morning and say 'look guys this is getting beyond silly, you all need to make friends with each other & decide between you how much worse you're going to let things get, then we'll argue cross party tomorrow'?
Yes I know Starmer won't be invited to the cabinet room, I'm not saying it in a literal sense, this is just so stupid though. Why can't the people that put the crosses in the box say we want to put crosses in the box at this precise moment. Fine (not really) if Conservatives get to stay but when even my mum is saying she wouldn't vote for them again, after giving them every single one of her votes (she's nearly 80) then something is going badly wrong that the electorate can't force a GE. I'd be happy if someone could tell me that there is a way we can!

Exactly. The best thing Starmer and Labour can do is keep a low profile and watch from a distance as the Tory party - y'know, the people that are actually meant to be running the country - implode.

The men in grey suits need to get their arses in gear very quickly.

Not sure who has any reputation expect Ben Wallace - what a crock of shit he would be left holding...

on Gilts watch, yields continued to drop during the afternoon, despite sterling falling too and US bond yields rising.

The standard reason. People are stupid or dishonest.

Hadn’t seen that, I rarely watch ITN unless Mary N is presenting because I cannot stand the ‘amateur dramatics’ Tom Bradley and Charlene White employ to convey stories. However, tonight he’s probably spot on, unorthodox as it was. What a sorry mess we’re in. Precisely the sort of turmoil and utter incompetence where, in other countries, a coup occurs and suddenly some extremist party emerges to grab power. Is it such a stretch to think revolution can’t happen here? We have the smallest army in our history these days, Police has been cut to the bone. Civil disorder is going to happen on an unprecedented scale soon enough, forget 2011, it’ll be more like the Gordon Riots and might very possibly topple authorities. Anarchy basically. I know we’re all laughing at, with hundreds memes doing the rounds etc, but these are dangerous times. Very serious consequences, happening now or have happened already and I bet many not realised or we can’t remotely be aware of yet. It seems there’s nothing and nobody waiting in the wings either. Everyone’s looking inwardly to save themselves, pulling up drawbridges at the very moment we all need to be working together in unity, looking out for each other and so forth. Over many years I’ve repeatedly talked about the perfect storm we’re heading towards and the threat to life on an unimaginable scale. It’s started, it’s all symptomatic-of and far worse is to come. And I don’t mean Keir Starmer! ;)

Sorry, but it happened when Johnson took power but we were distracted by the pandemic.

He was the acceptable face of a Conservative party that had been slowly taken over by free market extremists.

They didn't calculate that the free market didn't like them very much.

That's a bit disingenuous, I don't think my mum is either stupid or dishonest because she has spent her lifetime of votes on them. Misguided & naïve would be more accurate. Even though she said she wouldn't vote for them again she's still saying about interest rates hitting 17% in the 80's/90's & saying it was the Labour Gov of the 70's that caused it. Bring it forward to the 21st century and Labour caused the global financial crash. Actually I'll add in brainwashed as when I asked her what she has gained from the government over the last few years she said Covid was handled well & the Covid vaccine. I didn't like to mention the fact that she is still to scared to go out, she can't get an appointment at the Dr's & she's now waiting on 3 op's. On GE day I'm going to hide her wheelchair (joking, sort of). :lolol:

There will be no revolution here. The power of social media hasn't got that far (yet). The poll tax disorder won't happen again, nothing like that will happen again. Any form of 'disorder' & civil disobedience these days from gluing yourself to a road or pouring milk in a supermarket seems to start a moral panic. Just to make it clear I'm not advocating the methods or saying that they are wrong in what they are doing but that is pretty much our limit of 'disorder'. If half the country decided to march to Downing Street on mass to demand a GE it would probably be a massive co-incidence that electricity black outs would happen to stop people travelling (all down to Putin obviously). Would I go? I don't know, as I don't actually want to be arrested for participating in a march. It leads me to the conclusion that the general public will possibly have no say until 2024 on who runs our country. 🤷‍♀️
