I imagine she did get the sack. Asked to resign. All too much of a coincidence.
From the BBC:

There's a lot of chatter about whether there's more to Suella Braverman's resignation than a breach of email security protocols.

Paul Goodman, the rather well-informed editor of Tory grassroots website Conservative Home, reports that the outgoing home secretary had a row with Downing St about migration policy.

In a tweet, Goodman says Braverman was under pressure from No 10 to announce a "liberalising migration plan that would make it easier for the OBR (Office for Budget Responsibility) to say the government would hit its growth target".

all quite backhanded in its content. others have stayed on for more serious incidents. reading the rest, i wonder if Braverman doesnt have any support for her flavour of immigration control, or sees change ahead. interesting how this one goes.
She's been sacked. Or should have been sacked. Or should have resigned. This is the same personal email thing that Hilary Clinton was hung out to dry over. Except this was classified information sent from a private email account by an officer of state, not waffle sent by an opposition politician.

And after she was sacked or resigned, her reaction was to smash Truss' face in.

Graceless, thick no-mark.

And her name is Sue Ellen, not Suella. f***ing tories, trying to pretend they are posher than they really are (Iain 'Duncan' Smith syndrome).

I’ve just seen Steve Baker state it’s irrelevant what’s being voted on as it a confidence vote.
How is this democracy? MPs are now being asked to vote against a 2019 election promise to save the PMs skin.
how many actually read manifestos and know what was promised? it was a moritorium, defined as "a temporary prohibition". i know these details dont matter in the public areana, but this is what edge politicans one way or t'other.

The opportunity to sack/invite a resignation was too good to miss. But the reason was clear, and self-contained. Even if some people (some Telegraph journo?) is saying this is no way a resigning offense. It most definitely is. Or sacking, if the shitter won't jump. Which is probably what happened. Hunt probably gave the order.

Sue Ellen's resignation speech says she resigned because it was right to do so. She then laid into others for not resigning when they didn't honour election commitments (*cough* Truss *cough*). Omitting the blindingly obvious fact that Sue Ellen was happy to serve before her dimbottery forced her to resign.

I haven't understood the references to Tofu on this thread so I had to look it up.

Apparently Braverman used the phrase "Tofu eating wokerati".

Christ. Facepalm. And she's meant to be a serious politician.

She deserved the sack for that phrase alone.
Mrs T's verdict?

"She deserves to be chucked in the f***ing sea"

Far be it for me to offer any words of contradiction.

I've always assumed the Sue Ellen name was just another Keith-Starmer-ism.

But it's not ! Her real name is Sue-Ellen.

A bit "Dallas" isn't it ? Lol.

I think it is quite obvious that the resignation/sacking wasn’t solely because of the screw up with the phone.

What would happen, would be a full investigation by the party, to ascertain what information was compromised. Then an interview with Braverman, getting her side of the story, looking at her previous disciplinary record, and so forth.

On its own, it wouldn’t be an immediate same-day sacking, they’d have to go through the investigation process first, while she was suspended with pay.

I think the **** up was just the final straw for all parties, and she took the opportunity to jump from a sinking ship, rather than being the catalyst for her departure.

Good riddance anyway.

So, if I’ve got this right, the Conservative government elected on a platform of not fracking, are three line whipping their MPs to vote against their own manifesto commitment.

Their excuse for doing so is that they want this vote (based on nothing more than their say-so) to be a confidence vote in Liz Truss. The Liz Truss who has saved us about £1000 a year on energy, and cost us about £6000 a year when we need to remortgage our homes.

If I were a Conservative MP who had any spine or moral fibre, I wouldn’t even see there as being a choice.

Definitely more to it. Tory ministers are not in the habit of resigning over breaches of the ministerial code.

At least one Tory voting against the Govt.

Worth adding that Skidmore was one of the co-authors of Britannia Unchained with Truss. Another was KamiKwasi. She'd already ditched Raab and Patel, the final two co-authors. When she going to work out what the vast majority has now cottoned onto and that it's all a load of rubbish, and that in resigning the nonsense will be consigned to history (for the moment at least).

Yes, but sometimes people dump their horrible ex’s and move on to live happy lives. I can see Skidmore crossing the floor if he loses the whip.
