For Labour the longer she stays the better
Really not sure that applies any more. The Trussterfuck has made such a mess of the economy that interest rates will go higher (than they would have done), the recession will last longer (than it would have done), and government deficits and debt become that much squeezed (than they would have done). That leaves Labour in a far more difficult position to launch a recovery, and re-direct the economy towards where it needs to be.

Boris wasn't great in PMQs but he just about saw his way through them well enough to get by given how much of the electorate seemed to be forgive him on the basis of buying into the bumbling fool schtick he had.

Truss doesn't get that free pass. She can't pull off the "Boris Bumbler" approach. She doesn't pull off the waffle anywhere near as well. Her favourability polling is already dire at -70, she fumbles PMQs badly enough and it sinks even further she will be ousted sooner rather than later. The question becomes whether she's ousted (either by consensus or chaos) or just quits.
The thing with Boris and PMQs was, he never answered a question. It really used to annoy me how the speaker let him away with this. Surely it’s his job to ensure questions are answered.
All I want is a government that are accountable for their actions. Be that Conservative or Labour.
Without accountability we have nothing.

I'm not convinced that Brady has the power to change the threshhold from 15% to 50%. The rules for Tory leadership elections are set out here:

"A vote of no confidence in a sitting leader must be held if 15% of Conservative MPs write to the chairman of the 1922 Committee saying they no longer have confidence in the leader. The current 15% threshold is 54 MPs. MPs may withdraw letters at any time."

The key is the word "must".

Is there any point at which those nasty power hungry bar stewards won't say that actually, perhaps the country and the planet is more important than them desperately clinging on to power? I look forward with no confidence whatsoever to those Tories in impacted areas voting with their conscience and against the whip.

The 1922 can change the rules. In this case, the 15% threshold is currently irrelevant because Truss is immune (under current rules) for 12 months from the date she was elected Tory leader. Brady has simply told her that he considers 50% / 33% (depending which rumour you believe) to be the threshold at which point he will go to the 1922 to seek the rules be changed to allow an earlier vote.

I have read the document in full now and can find no reference to any "immunity". More of a stitch-up to keep her there which suits me fine! I wouldn't want to give the Tories an opportunity to elect a leader who might just have a bit of a clue what they are doing. The longer she drags it out, the greater the opportunity for the Tories to get a total beasting at the GE which should keep them out of power and away from the economy for a generation.
