Probably - Tbh I’m just posting updates on her campaign/how Labour are faring from a local perspective as I thought it might be of some interest to the more “politically minded NSCers” but if her campaign here is of no interest to anyone outside her Constituency then I’ll stop.

Well if they're not interested, I suggest maybe they shouldn't open a thread with the title 'Liz Truss defending S.W. Norfolk seat July 4th' :lolol:

Definitely interested, along with Sunak losing his seat, little would please me more.

The ditch element is a long-running suggestion for a repository for conservative politicians from an NSC poster.

Labour candidate fighting Truss has the support of Feargal Sharkey (Who the musos among you will know as the ex-lead singer of the Undertones (one of my favourite Punk era bands and environmentalists know as a prominent clean rivers campaigner)

Can't beat a bit of Feargal. Top man.

In depth piece on what Truss is up against - SW Norfolk is going to be a very tight race with any swing to Labour here below the national average.

For historic reasons, Sunk then Truss losing would be ones to hope for as in sitting and former PM.

For 'get in there' reasons, Rees-Mogg, Gullis, C/Hunt, Patel and Braverman would be next to hope for.
Oh, no. Those two would be unbridled joy.

Rees-Mogg will be far too reasonable about it all and Hunt has been going for some time so it will be a bit 'meh'.

Truss, yes, that will be a glorious moment.

Truss going would absolutely be my Portillo moment.

I reckon she’d join Reform quicker than you could say “morals of a sewer rat” if she loses though.
It would far eclipse Portillo. She'd start rambling about deep state and anti nutjob coalitions conspiring against her after she'd lost. It would be something else.

And the failure of our pork markets and cheese exports.

The in-laws are up that way and one works for a local parish council. Since being PM she hardly turns to for important matters and when she does is whisked in / out by security, doesn’t make eye contact with anyone.

She also has been taking close counsel from a former now retired senior Tory who is in the area as she’s not in a good way allegedly.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see her gone based on small sample size of locals I met a month or so back

It is genuinely insane that Liz Truss is going to get a single vote. The odds for her getting any votes at all should be at least 80/1.

But the public are idiots.

This is exactly my thinking tbh.

There is no way on earth she should get any more than 1 vote - and that's assuming even she can't be thick enough to f*** up voting for herself, which isn't a foregone conclusion by any means.

Very possibly - Or she’d form an alliance PopCon Party from her Popular Conservative mignons which include Fleece Smog, Petty Petal and Nigel Farage among other notables. Don’t care as long as she loses her seat and fcuks off out of this Constituency and takes her Thatcher blouses with her. She’s an even worse Constituency MP than she was Prime Minister (almost).

Either way, it would most definitely be my Portillo moment, in fact better than that.

It would be 100 times better than Portillo would it? He was a bit slimy and all, but not a bad bloke. Truss barely qualifies as human
