What Potter is trying to achieve is laudable but I’d be quite happy for him to occasionally forego the principles and get a little more agricultural when we’re up against the very best. The occasional launch up field won’t hurt as much as getting caught faffing around in your own six yard box.

this is what I don't get though. we've done this plenty of times under potter. I lost count of the amount of times against palace the ball was just lumped up aimlessly and away from our defence, and yet here, where it may even prove prudent to get rid of it now and then, as you say, we appear to have no interest in doing so
