The way we played against the top 6 last season was actually quite good, although obviously it didn't yield much in the way of results. The trouble last season was that we played the same way against everyone else, including relegation threatened teams who were scrapping for a point to save their lives, even when we were at home.

Yes an inability to move from defence to attack with any pace.

Ain’t that the truth we gave every team just as much respect as we gave Manchester City and Liverpool. It was ****ing INFURIATING (well it was to me)

Basically 3 centre halves and 5 central midfielders. With a right back, striker and goalie making up the team.

Yes, not much balance in that team against pacey full backs.

Bit worried, but I like 5 across the middle, just wish we had some natural pace on the flanks.

Don't really know how we're gonna get the ball forward but not a bad team he's picked. Glad Mooy and Gross are playing. Maybe weRe going to play through the lines by having two lines (possibly three) of centre midfielders! Agree it should be the pace and fearlessness of Connelly up front. Please don't give them a goal from sloppy, naive passing around our area Like the penalties we conceded last week and Chelsea (Propper and Webster). At least make them create something rather than just press us a bit.

4-3-2-1 I would think. Might well be more solid than last week but Burn at LB and Bong nowhere near the 18 suggests we still might try and play possession and push up where we can. Interesting selection.

I actually quite like that lineup.

With Bissouma, Propper, Mooy, Stephens, that's a lot of ball winners in midfield, add Gross and you have a lot of players who can find a quality forward pass too. Looks like the game plan will be to put Connolly in behind from a central(ish) position, and being hard to get through centrally too. Good idea since we have great height at CB if we can try to limit them mostly to wide areas.

Good to see Bissouma get a start and I actually think Maupay could benefit from being rotated out, build up some extra hunger, take the pressure off him a bit and let him have fresh legs later in the game. Trossard the same.

Hey! I’m all for experimenting. Gives Potter more experience and it’s a free hit so why not!

Looking forward to seeing how we fare.
