When we got promoted these were the games I was looking forward to. Today we are competing, yes we’ll almost certainly lose. In the last two seasons we have played like a lower league team in the cup in these games. I have much much lower expectations of Albion than so many of you.

I am loving this game....so far!

I would argue last season at Anfield we looked as much of a threat! [emoji47][emoji50].....

In fact Gross should have scored at the end [emoji2].

Swindon, but used to be Manila
We are worryingly poor defensively and all the better teams are going to pick us off easily. We are not sharp enough to put away any half/three quarter chances, so its clearly going to be a long season. We will lose at the Emirates defending like this and are going to be going into the Wolves game on the back of 4 straight defeats. Methinks the home games v Sheff U and Bmuff are must wins.
p.s Gross is terrible and Montoya not good enough. White is better than Webster and another striker is vital in Jan.

No chance White will get recalled.

Last season at Anfield we were a Gross header miss on 88 mins away from getting a point. That good performance has to be written out of history because you know, entertainment

I was there. We still didn’t score. Liverpool poor. Police would have issued a Wanted poster had Gross scored. Anyway, he didn’t. We didn’t. Again. Away from home against a top six. It wasn’t that entertaining either. Come off it. Early season damp squib on the whole.

Completely disagree.

This Liverpool side has played 14 of the 19 other clubs in the Premier League. Only one of them has managed to get a single point off them.

A fixture like this is all about giving them a good game, learning as a club how to play well against the very best.

The very fact we can play like this against the top sides is why we will beat the worst and ultimately stay up.

Unfortunately, whether we play Liverpool, Chelsea or Southampton we don’t have anything in the final third, hence the Villa, Burnley, Southampton, West Ham, Newcastle results. If we had some quality in the final third we would have taken maximum points from these games!

The truth is we threw it away with yet more naive defending.
We only started playing when the game was almost certainly gone.
If we laud potter for this performance we are pretty much accepting It’s ok if we go down , as long as we knock it around a bit every now and again.
Playing well when and where it doesn’t matter are very worrying features of potterball.

Its too loose and with just too many errors. This is like a training exercise for Liverpool. We are too easy to beat at the moment.

NOBODY has won at Anfield for 44 games but don’t let that stop you ranting that we aren’t

At a point in the half it was looking like a drubbing that's why.
But we have not collapsed and done quite well against a very good team.
But you must take chances and when you have a player with the quality that Van Dijk has and you know what he does and you watch videos of him all week you do not give him room, ok he still may score but at least get close to him.
That is what is so frustrating, basic errors.

Going down to ten men by about 30 minutes didn't help in two of those games!

Sorry, but we’ve got to be more resilient if we want to stay in games and ultimately stay up.
Liverpool are obviously on a different level and We did look very good last 15 mins of first half. But there’s only so much you can read into that good spell as all the sting had gone from the game.
We didnt make it very difficult for Liverpool today, when it mattered.
