next brighton game try this, Open your mouth start a song and support your team, go on dare ya! If block H can be singing almost constantly then why cant anyone else ???

BTW, good atmposhere today in block H, seems to get better every game :clap2:

a) Constantly? Unless I am going deaf, there was not constat singing, never has been, never will be.

b) Wasn't a good atmosphere, again, never had been, never will be!

Lets get that choirmaster bloke on tv to Withdean.
He'd improve the singing all right.

I'll be honest, there are times I want to sing all match, and other times I just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the football. Yesterday was one of those days, I was happily in Block G, got stuck in with the "right side Brighton boys" chant which was a laugh, got clouted by the inflatable a couple of times, and had a laugh. It wasn't the day for constant singing by me, not in the mood. I was more than content to sit back and enjoy. I paid my money, I'll do what I want to.

For the next one, however, I fancy Block H again, it's a great laugh in there. The only problem with a singing section, is that EVERY singer is in there. Anyone who is an occaisonal cheerer will sit elsewhere, but the people who want to sing all game long are housed in ONE section. I think that's both good, and bad.

Why is there this perception that you aren't supporting the team unless you're making some form of noise for all of the 90 minutes?

We could but I choose to sit in the non singing section 'cos if you think with my knees and back, I'm jumping up and down shouting abuse at the Stewards every few minutes then think again. At away matches I'll happily stand for the 90 minutes and join in the singing but I can't do this constant up and down. Just ask the missus! :)

It's part of fandom, this need to prove oneself a "better" fan. You get it in all areas of cuture; I've seen the film more times than anyone else, I've got more of their cds, I was a fan before their break out single, I was supporting them before they started win the premiership every year, I go to all the away games, I will run on the pitch and punch a player if he celebrates a goal against us because I have more passion etc.

I'll shout "Seagulls" or "Albion" or have words with the ref but sitting down and singing does not work for me. BTW what songs did you actually sing yesterday apart from the boring Right Side / Left Side thing? I sit in G Block and cannot remember any song.

maybe i just like it, maybe if you actually knew me you might just understand.
either way it obvioulsy bothers you and tbh i don't really care

also - if it's so uneasy on the eye, how can you possibly read anything on the main pages of nsc?

 That reads like something I said time and again when I first joined here. Take it from me, mate, it's not worth it. I like the blue type, but the majority have spoken.

I know we've done this thread and types like it to death but I really, honestly, seriously don't want to sing. Just before the onslaught think about this ... what is a good supporter? It can't be answered because it's all down to individual perceptions, we all play our part and we all want to enjoy Saturday afternoon, Tuesday evening etc, I wouldn't if I had to b***dy sing as well.

Happy to up my pie consumption if anyone would feel this would help?

Tim

Withdean is never going to have a good atmosphere, pretty simple and some kid on a football forum is not going to change that.
