John Corbett's mother?

Good call, she could also be Jo Davidson’s mother as well. There is definitely some link to Hastings who in the past series was linked as John Corbett’s father.

I find the significance of the internal balcony at HQ amusing. A place for Hastings and/or Arnott to stare at suspects arriving for interview, or departing.

Whenever anyone enters reception at AC-12

It's weird going back to watching a series one episode a week in these Netflix days, but as always, I am finding it utterly compelling.

Some lovely theories in posts above...I'm just going to wait and see how it all pans out, as every prediction I make is utterly incorrect.

Kate is H is a strong one. Unlike Arnott how she got into AC12 has never been mentioned. She always been in the right place and the only one at death of Dot Cotton. Who knows what was whispered in her ear? If she was undercover placed by Ted she could be recalled and be in prime position to take over AC12 once Hastings gets the sack for overstepping the mark with his seniors once too often. She would then be able to protect OCG from proper investigation and maybe convince officers Davidson at the Hill was a good cop. OCG would then have it all wrapped up.

Buckells, playing the role of the useful idiot for OCG, and his relationship with Hastings is an interesting one. Maybe more to Buckells than meets the eye.

Chloe the sidekick to Arnott maybe Tony Gates’s daughter who could put a spanner in the works especially if Steve is sidelined.
The writer has also said there will be an appearance from someone mentioned before but not seen. Dot Cotton’s wife who is in forensics?

This - look for the biggest buffoon and you have a scheming Svengali/master criminal, hidden in plain sight ........... or maybe not???

Loving it. Shame we didn't get to to see Buckles' AC-12 interview.

Yes, and that's a sure sign that you are enjoying it.

I love it.

Episode 1 was harder work, having to recall (or look up) who all the old names referred to were and their relevance. Not just me getting older , Susanna Reid and guests the other day revealed that they’ve had to jot that it down to make sense of it all.

I haven’t read the whole thread so apologies if this has already come up, but wasn’t Buckells in series 1 as the useless cop who replaced Tony Gates?

Relevant surely or am I sucking diesel?

Yes, Buckells was parachuted in as a safe pair of hands in the form of a supply teacher.... he's clean, this is a red herring.

I love how they really over emphasise how much of an idiot Buckles is. If they go in his office again look at the pictures on his wall, it's really lame golf stuff.

Now I'm typing it, I'm wondering if it's all a reference to the caddy. He was waving a golf club in the last episode and everyone knows that BENT COPPERS love golf!

I have just watched 1-5 series again and now following on with 6 and it all does make more sense as to what is going on. It's just brilliant.

Excellent. Do share. You might be able to counteract this claim, but I think series 6 is far more self-referential, and is raising issues/characters from previous series. What are your thoughts about those who have so far been raised (eg the Gina McKee character) in this series, given that you've binged on the previous five of late?
