Lewes Bonfire

If Lewes is too mental for some, then why not try East Hoathly on Saturday 12th? Same bonfire societies, easier to get beered up, just as impressive bonfire and, dare I say, better fireworks display. Perhaps not quite as big as it was in it's heyday (70's/80's) but still a special night.
Driving to East Hoathly to get beered up in a couple of small pubs ....................... yeah right .

One bit of advice I would give for those that are unaware of how mental Lewes is on bonfire night, especially when it falls on a weekend.

Don't bring kids.. There are some proper tossers in town that seem to leave their brains at home on this one night.

Of course, do as you wish, but if you do go then stay safe!

My Daughter will be processing with Southover and I will be escorting them.

Look out for the Heathfield Community college Samba band (Batucada) and give us a shout if you see us

Surprising amount of plyboard going up in the high street to protect the shops this evening. Looks like Croydon High Street now!

sounds like it :bigwave: i've got my spies in the camp i know what goes on :smokin:

It took ages to get accepted in the local pubs but since 2 of my kids were born at home, I'm now accepted as an adopted Lewesian:drama::eek:

You might remember their futile efforts to stop the Amex being built where it is. Rocket men to the fore, I say.
Not the bonfire boys - or the local residents. In fact, one of the best days out EVER was the open top bus from Lewes to the Donny game at the Amex - organised by a bunch of bonfire stalwarts. The town was HEAVING with blue and white stripes that day.

Marvellous scenes in Lewes last night as well.

Any Brighton fans who are attending Lewes tonight....just watch out for the Commercial square tableau. Absolutely superb.

Just been for a superb bonfire breakfast in the Tally Ho and now need a sleep before hitting the sauce in the tally tonight. Im even thinking of taking my 3 chickens up there with me to stop the pikey c*nts next door to me letting off fireworks every 2 seconds.
