I felt like it was a bad deal when we signed him, not to criticise the player. But because it meant that we would probably find ourselves having to plug two gaps in the squad. The first being Colwill himself if he had become a key player, which he has. The second being Jan Paul van Hecke who has had to sit and watch for a full season and won't want to find himself in the same position for next season. Hopefully his end to the season will keep JVPH keen on being a part of our journey but he's had a season with a real lack of football, despite his obvious talent and ability.
It was clear from the Newcastle game that JPVH needs regular football (like most players). Once he’d got rid of the rust, he looked a fine player.
Competing in four competitions should give him enough game time. We’ll absolutely need him if Lewis is away on international duty all the time too. He won’t be able to play as many games for us as he has done this season.

I agree, if they want him, then I think we need to play hardball on this one. Colwill plus 30 to 40m for Caceido.

Up to Uncle Tony … but I wouldn’t accept a loan …it has to be perm or nothing for me. A loan sees us develop their player for another year (at the expense of one of our own) … and at the end no financial reward for doing so … this is without taking into account they would also have Caicedo …

Surely, if they're open to letting him go on loan again then that suggests they don't plan on giving him much game time this season.
Levi wants first team football this season.
If I was him I'd be pretty miffed that they're saying they don't want to sell, yet are open to loaning him out again.

Can’t see a loan really benefits Chelsea either unless they convince him to sign a new deal first as another year on loan will leave just 12 months on Levi contract. More likely to get better money this summer otherwise

I can see the loan happening. There is some sense to it for TB. A loan fee for Colwill would be a few million, maybe as much as £5m (plus wages obviously). I believe we got him for ‘free’ last season as part of the Cucu deal. If the same happened this season, we’d have had him for two years for nothing. And two years is about the same length of time we have a lot of our young stars for anyway before selling them on. And if we bought him for £40-50m we won’t be making our usual profits when we sell on anyway. In the meantime, I expect to see us buy some young LCB for £5m-£10m and send him on loan somewhere in the hope he’ll be ready to step in - and if he isn’t, Colwill will only have a year left on his contract by the end of next season.

I personally think another loan is very unlikely; they’ll either sell him to bank the pure profit for FFP reasons, or he’ll be in their starting XI next season. I strongly suspect the latter.
I suspect the player would love to join if Chelsea had no plans for him to start most games next season.
The best thing that could happen is Boehly is braindead enough to go and sign another first team CB before the end of the summer, which might push Colwill’s people into forcing a move. Even then, no guarantee we’d get him if Man City etc were interested.

This is bullshit , we love him ,he loves us . He has 2 years left on his contract , IF he is loaned back to us he knows for fact he plays , that would leave just one year if he doesn`t sign a new contract with a club owned by a serial buyer . RDZ can and has made him better , Levi must know Chelsea are THE most transient team from top to toe and are not as reliable or trustworthy as us ?! . With us he plays for his country , with Chelsea he will be lucky to keep a place in the starting 11 .

I know money makes the footballing world go round, but why would Caicedo want to go to Chelsea? I know he has age on his side, but no European footy next season and depending on how Poch does getting a unity about the squad quickly, they could well be an absolute basket case again next year. He might as well stick with us.

The only way a loan would happen would be that he signs a new contract with Chelsea before, I'd imagine
He is a very sensible young man , if he signs a new contract with Chelsea he would have to have playing conditions included , can`t see CFC doing that . He`s just played 28 games for a team that finished 6 places above his parent club , they might own him contractually but the man is enjoying his footy and he won`t want to loose that , especially given the swing doors at SB .
