they’ll probably try for at least one of our players this summer. including colwill in any negotiations has to be the absolute baseline that we ask from them.
It’s impossible not to get ahead of oneself……. The club need to plan for next season NOW and it seems they are doing just that.
Everything you say makes sense.
But, and a big but, if reports are correct Chelsea need to sell players and make over £100m profit to fall in line with FFP. If they start buying more players which is likely with a new manager, then the amount they need to sell goes up. The easiest way to make a profit for them is to sell home grown players like Mount, Loftus-Cheek, Gallagher etc & Colwill falls into that category.
So strengthening other clubs might not be a consideration for Chelsea.

I’m pretty certain Sanchez is off to Chelsea. BBC website today saying that Chelsea want to sell one of their current keepers and Mendy likely to go. So Sanchez to Chelsea to replace him.
You’d like to think that at the very least we could try to get a loan deal for Levi as part of that negotiation, and hopefully a full purchase deal.
If a loan deal and Levi doesn’t sign a new contract with Chelsea we’d be in a better position at the end of the season to get him on a permanent deal.

I think you have a positive outlook but there is a ‘route to Colwill’ for us along with the Sanchez exchange possibility.
Chelsea seem desperate to keep Ben Roberts despite Poch potentially having his own keeper coach. Maybe it’s because he’s promised The Todd Sanchez on a plate?

Seeing as RDZ seems to be in LOVE with Colwill, I can’t see us letting Sanchez go unless Colwill is part of the deal.

Frankly, I'm way past caring what Sanchez wants. He can go and rot on anybody's bench as long as we get good money to invest in players with a better attitude.

They'll either keep him or sell him. My suspicion is that they will sell him if he won't sign a new contract (and to do so he'll want a combo of playing time and a fat salary).
So my guess is he gets sold (all profit for ffp, as with Gallagher). He'll go for 4s big fee. Which might make its Moe likely to look elsewhere. And other clubs offer bigger salaries than us, we know that. Still feels unlikely to come here (sadly).

If Chelsea do sell Levi he will be more encouraged to sign for Brighton rather than a club offering higher wages.
Because he will have seen the individual development strategy and escape route that Mac Allister and Caicedo both seem to have been offered.

Not many sides give teenagers playing time and he will know that. The advantages we now have are that he has a chance to play regularly and knows we will not block any potential move should his ability and value continue to grow and a title winning side want to take him in a few years time.
He may get a chance at Arsenal but Man City Dias, Man Utd Martinez, Liverpool Van Dijk, Chelsea & Newcastle won't risk his inexperience & Spurs won't have European football. At 19 playing 30+ games a season is huge for his career and having a club/players/manager he enjoys being with could sway his decision.

And he has family based in Southampton who are currently easy to pop and see.
I had a chat earlier in the season with Levi who was watching his uncle play for Sholing against Bognor.

It’s the same distance from Brighton to Southampton as Chelsea to Southampton.
I think we’ve all gone a bit Leeds over Colwill. However I’m confident that our recruitment team won’t have, and that they will have already identified alternative CBs to replace Colwill.

I don’t think we’ve gone all Leeds. I haven’t seen the sense of entitlement, claiming Colwill was made in Brighton, that Chelsea fans have no idea who he is, nor never seen him play.
We appreciate a good young player on loan, and would like the Albion to try and buy him because he’s fitted in.
It’s as simple as that.
If we can’t, then oh well, I’m sure we’ll find someone else.

Maybe, but if a richer club offers Chelsea a fee that we can't match, he may not get the choice to join us.
