On the whole I'm not a fan of loans. I've been scarred with the spell of Mickey Adams MK2, when our team was absolutely STUFFED with loaners who quite clearly couldn't give a flying f*ck at a rolling donut about playing for BHA.

But one or two carefully selected loans can work brilliantly, as per Colwill, and Wayne Bridge who I thought would be a disinterested non-committed disaster but turned out to be one of our best ever loan signings.

So there is definitely a place for loaners. But not more than a couple, tops, IMO.

That's only partly true. Every player is for sale. It is, however, highly, highly unlikely that we'll offer anywhere near the number it would take to make Chelsea sell. Fair enough, that's Chelsea's prerogative.

So it's up to Chelsea this summer but if you don't give him a) a new contract and b)plenty of playing time then it won't be this time next year.

Also, if you and your like could remember the point I made in the opening paragraph if you come in for Caicedo and don't offer enough that would be nice.
