I don't know. Not so much thinking about holidays, as taking a bit of a career break and just going off for six months or so.

It's harder than I thought. There are loads of places I want to see, but to keep it reasonable and make the most of it, I'd have to narrow it down a fair bit. There's nowhere particularly unusual in there, wouldn't mind seeing a bit of South America, Argentina, Chile etc, which I suppose are slightly off the general holiday radar. Or I could jump on the Trans-Siberian railway and take a cheeky stop in Mongolia. I quite like the idea of seeing if there is a branch of Seagulls Over Ulaan Baator.

A career break - how does that work? Do they hold your current position open or do you have to find an alternative when you get back or are you actually thinking of leaving the police altogether? (How nosey!!)

That's some crazy gastropod porn you've got going on - good work.

Most non marine gastropods are hermaphrodites so its very much a self abuse style porn you get with them. Now marine snails........they're filthy.

I'm in a rather full STI waiting room. Probably another 10 or so teenagers to go. A different nurse comes out every few minutes calling out the name of the next invitee and one of them is a huge hootered beauty. I pray I am not to be tampered with by her and her likely delicate paws. TWANG!

My girlfriend is filthy. But then that's not much of a surprise. She seems to spend most of her time crying rather than washing while she's in the bathroom.

I think most public sector employers will allow staff to take unpaid sabbaticals or career breaks once you've accrued a certain length of service, especially in the current climate. Which is handy, as it means I should be able to go & do my thing and come straight back into my job when I return. The only thing I think it might slightly affect is my pension, but to be honest the Government are busy nailing that anyway, so I figure what's six months out when Theresa May wants me to be still chasing bad guys at 65?

I once donated money to the telethon 88 and NEVER sent the money in. I did send 30 quid to a Mozambique " flood" appeal. Probably spent arming child soldiers. The flood appeal that is.

Rubbery membranes, self abuse....The Joy of Snails. Those marine ones sound interesting too - what are they into?

No it's funny you should mention that birthofanorange but the sealing membranes on many marine snails are known as their trap doors. They are often attacked by other prey which while obviously trying to get into the snails insides "bash their trap doors open"
It's x certificate stuff trust me.
