I can assure you that bowls is only played by the over 60's in preston park (as well as Dyke rd park, holligbury park and preston vicarage)

The streets of Preston Park are quiet this morning. A few beer cans lying about, but surprisingly few. No doubt the park looks like a bomb's hit it but it'll all be gone by Monday.

The park's not as bad as previous years although the real mess will happen when the heavy vehicles start moving off the park in this rain....anyone remember the unbelievable scenes from about 7 or 8 years ago when the park looked like a scene from the somme ?

We have different opinions I don't like this festival and intend to get support not just here and do something about it..................investing some of my comp payment into it ............money were mouth is type thing!!!

that said, the whole concept confuses me and i find it rather unnecessary..

and, i am unaware, who funds gay pride? and who decides whether it takes place or not? the council, or whoever represents the gay community?

I think that some people saying they don't like gays, or don't like the way that quite a lot of gays feel they have to parade to show their gayness in Gay Pride is actually quite different to KILLING thousands of gays and jews etc.

The killing of thousands (millions) of Jews was The Final Solution.

Prior to that, the Jews were persecuted, marginalised, attacked in the streets, robbed, had their businesses and livelihoods stolen, were stripped of all thier rights, had their citizenship removed and were eventually forced to leave their own homes in order to congregate and live away from the rest of society in Jew ghettos.

Thankfully most people have now moved on from this way of thinking.

Don't think anybody's mentioned on here the seven figure sum's worth of revenue it must bring into the town, most of it being pumped directly into the local community. Worth having for that reason alone
