What an absolute pile of wank Uncle spielberg....you'd be better off watching whether the cows are laying down or if the Yew tree in the local cemetery has more berries on than it did in 1910.

We've been ASSURED by all these so called amateur experts that the last three summers were going to break all records.....cactus and birds of paradise will be springing up and herds of wilderbeast will be gracing the south downs. ABSOLUTE SHITE.

Every year we're told it's going to be a cold winter.....millions will die because we're not used to it :bla::bla::bla:

You're better off going up to Brighton racecourse and seeing what weather's coming across from the Isle of Wight....a bit like Southern FM seem to do.

As a gardener, i also tend to take note of weather patterns etc etc and the one thing i've found in 25 years as a proifesional gardener is not to rely on previous patterns.

Still Uncle S....keep predicting, one year you're bound to get it right.

Oh...and i'd love a cold winter. Those days back in the 70's and 80's where it never got above -10 during the day seem long ago !!!

Really?

There must be a hell of a cold front developing over Rocky Lane then, because I'm in Burgess Hill as I write, and it is pissing it down here. Mind you, Haywards Heath is in the north.

I hope it does snow, by the way. Always worth watching the local news when it does.

Fred Dinenage: "At six o'clock, the Meridian News headlines. South paralysed by blizzards as winter sets in"

Cut to a reporter standing forlornly on a roundabout in Hampshire, with a few lazy flakes of sleet in the air.

"Thanks Fred, and as you can see, traffic in Basingstoke is reduced to a crawl tonight, as half an inch of snow fell, causing chaos on our roads. We ask: could this have been prevented?"

I rely on www.netweather.tv for my weather forecasts, they are pretty accurate and at the moment have severe weather warnings for snow over much of England...particularly at higher levels.

Yes Edna, it could easily be prevented if nobody lived in Basingstoke, have you ever been there?

Not to my knowledge.

Doesn't sound like the sort of place you'd visit for fun, although I'm open to suggestions if anyone would care to enlighten me about its finer points

A few years ago there was a survey that voted Bromley and Basingstoke as the most boring places to live in the UK, having lived near both of them I would tend to agree, they may have improved since then but I doubt it.

4C 39F driving back from Ovingdean across Downs at 2pm and Sleet. Major snow falls over Northern Hills with my beloved Lake District going to get an early fall of snow. Todays max 6C 43 F is well below normal Tom so I do not know what you are talking about really.

Next week will be unsettled and slightly less cold but still below average at 9C 48F, the trends are getting better and better, by the way this is the first time I have predicted a cold winter since NSC started , you must be thinking of the Daily Express.

Europe getting a lot of snow this week end with many Ski resorts opening up 4 weeks early.

Watch this space.
