It is unlikely but I'm really hoping West Ham do go up as they'd be a much bigger threat next season than Southampton would be.

i really dont get that BBC thing if west ham score 4 goals and saints drew west ham would surely go up on goal difference so there would not be a playoff

It's total nonsense in any case. The difference between the clubs is only two goals (three GD), so if West Ham win 3-0 and Cov v Soton is 0-0, West Ham go up.

SCC are going to be ridiculous odds with the bookies on Saturday (probably around 1/5 just to win!). Theyll be under an enormous amount of pressure but think they'll just edge it 2-1. Would rather see Wet Spam go up because of the parachute payments and they'll be the favourites with the bookies next season. How many matches of theirs have been on TV this season? Far, far too many although they are entertaining.

I would also laugh at the fact that you no longer have a penis.

I'd f***ing love it if you blew it. It would wipe the smile off all you arrogant b*stards

If Wham win 3 nil and we draw 0 - 0, Wham win on goals scored. However if we were to get a 1 - 1 we win on head to head and so on and so on.

West Ham will only go up in the following scenarios:

WHU win by any score and SCC lose.

WHU win by four goals or more and SCC draw.

If WHU win by three goals then they also need to score 3 more than SCC, eg:
Win 3-0 and SCC draw 0-0.
Win 4-1 and SCC draw 0-0 or 1-1.
Win 5-2 and SCC draw 0-0, 1-1 or 2-2, etc.

Here's hoping...

Nicely summed up sir, now why couldn't the BBC manage that?

I want Wet Spam to win by a few goals, Saints to draw or lose to Coventry and then the Hammers to beat Hull too, sending Southampton out of the top two for the first time all season.
How brilliant would that be?
That is exactly what I had wished for and for us to be in the playoffs and meet the Scummers in the final at Wembley and "shove it up 'em" so to speak.

Really hope SCC stay in the championship. Love to see Adkins face at full time on Saturday when he realises that've just finished third! And with all that negative momentum they're bound to lose in the playoffs.

I would chuckle heartily if Southampton ended up third and then lost to Blackpool in the playoffs.

Blackpool don't like Southampton much after their FA Cup match last season when Holloway took exception to the Stains singing "Premiership you're having a laugh". It would tremendously funny to hear the northerners singing that to Southampton after beating them.

Pressure all on Southampton now. Coventry will be no push overs either, they have absolutely nothing to lose. Should be a very interesting Saturday.

Nice to have something to play for on Saturday though isn't it? And fantastic effort by Leicester not to concede 6 and score 0.

Will be a much better occasion for you if you go up having won your game in your own ground on a Saturday afternoon, rather than following another game on a Monday night.

9.2 If two or more Clubs have the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored the highest placed Club shall be determined by the respective League records against each other, taking into account in order of precedence, points gained, goal difference and goals scored. If the above procedures do not separate the Clubs, then the Clubs concerned shall play off a deciding League Match or Matches under arrangements approved by the Board on a neutral ground. The net gate money after deducting the usual match expenses shall be equally divided between the two competing Clubs. Any Club staging such a play off match shall be entitled to charge as an expense against the receipts of the match 10% of the gross gate receipts after deduction of Value Added Tax. In the event of such a match being arranged by the Board to be played on the ground of a Club which is not a member of The League, then a similar charge as an expense against the receipts of the match shall be paid by The League who shall otherwise be responsible for the financial arrangements made with the Club staging the match. These provisions shall determine the ranking of Clubs in their respective Divisions.

Saints it is then, no one off match nonsense.

does that mean that if, say, 13th and 14th place had exactly the same stats, and had drawn each other, they would have to play off for 13th place?
