Dreadful penalties. Utterly predictable from us. Plucky comeback after gifting goals only to ‘gloriously’ fail yet again. Why we enter the League cup I don’t know. Someone should pop down to HQ and show them our record. We could get special dispensation because there’s no point based on factual evidence.

Do we reckon Locadia has done enough to earn a start on Saturday?

Ali Mac will be the new regular pen taker when on the pitch it seems. Poor effort from Steele all game cost us unfortunately, gifted them a goal, woeful kicking, and dived the same way for every Leicester pen

here we ****ing go

shoot out might be on SKY seeing as the happy hammers just put Man City out on pens

Cheers for the heads up. Would have missed it otherwise. Shame we didn’t finish them off. Conclusion from the shootout - Mac should be our regular penalty taker!

Who cares? Rubbish trophy anyway. We did well to equalise but Steele and Conolly were shite, Steele more so. Main concern now is the weekend where hopefully Biss can make another appearance and Neal can regain some confidence because we are really going to struggle if we have another goal drought from him like last season

Yeah, cause our trophy cabinet hadn’t got space has it.

Steele was absolutely **** all night, I'd have put someone else in goal for the pens, anybody else.
Locadia and Connolly showing yet again why we need to ditch the pair of them.
Not a bad performance overall but still lacking that ruthlessness that we desperately need.
Time to concentrate on the league.

Shame but some positives;
Mwepu played well again ignoring the penalty miss.
Game time for Webster and Bissouma.
Sarmiento looks like a player that would be useful to have on the bench.
The game gave an opportunity to some, who didn't take it and therefore can't complain if they aren't in the first team squad.

Because realistically it’s the only chance we’ll ever have to lift a major trophy? Along with the FA Cup, which the big clubs take more seriously. Surely that’s what everyone wants: to win something?

United and City already out this year, too.

Rubbish trophy maybe but beggars can't be choosers and it would've been nice to reach the last 8 and then you never know. Quite disappointed to have lost that after being pretty meh beforehand. Thought we played really well second half and deserved to win. Didn't quite create enough though despite so much nice football. Will this be our downfall forevermore?!

Sarmiento what a prospect that lad looks (ignoring the 45+5th minute)

Apart from the penalty, Mwepu had a great game.

Locadia and Connolly both failed to take their chance to step up, particularly Connolly. Must be "last chance saloon" for Connolly, at least Locadia had a couple of good touches in the second half.
