Great point, on reflection.

But it should have been 3, poor pen miss by Maupay

Potter, so frustrating got it right pre-kick off, then makes wholesale changes when we were clearly on top and the better side, lightweight and weak after the subs in my opinion, Propper just not at the races.

Lamptey MOM, looks a star in the making..

I don't think we were on top when he made the substitutions. I felt the tiredness was kicking in.

Very hot day, away, only the second game after the season restarts off the back of a hard work out against Arsenal and against Leicester who are 3rd.

Two hard games, 4 points.

Nothing to moan about, nothing to moan about at all.

Game of opinions and all that, but WOW.

We were absolutely not ‘on top’ when we made the subs. They had to be made, or we’d have been completely over-run.

And Pröpper was excellent, and rightly lauded by the commentary, for re-establishing a modicum of control in our play, at a time when the ball just wasn’t sticking at all.

Really chuffed with that result tonight and maybe it’s not the time for negativity but when we sit back when the inevitable pressure comes I would love some counter attacking pace. But there you go.

100% this.

Leicester had taken total control of the match, the ball was coming back again and again. Once Propper came on, to LCFC’s frustration we countered and actually held the ball up, strung many passages of passing together, showed great composure. It killed their momentum, until they had a 5 or 10 minute spell near the end.

That's another £10 in the pot, could have been £30 if scored penalty.
Wasn't to be though, good point well won.
Drab game according to Sporting Life, bollox to them.
Kitty now stands at £40, bring on Utd.

N Maupay (57), Y Bissouma (58), A Mac Allister (58), A Connolly (82) Wholesale changes.

highly praised or admired.

The Times:

"The insertion of Lamptey and 21-year-old Alexis Mac Allister, whose father Carlos helped Argentina to reach the 1994 World Cup and boasts Fife roots, were exciting moves by Potter. Mac Allister was soon showing his attacking deliveries, taking responsibility for dead balls, demonstrating his touch when controlling an awkward driven ball from Dale Stephens.

Beyond the penalty incident and Lamptey’s excellence, there was little to report. Alan Birchenall, the Leicester club ambassador, has grown a goatee during lockdown. Games behind closed doors are pale imitations of the real drama. The crowd’s cackling would have been deafening had they been there to witness Mat Ryan’s brief discomfort when almost throwing the ball into his net."

What else? Maddison was chopped down by Shane Duffy and Stephens, then managed to curl a free kick into the empty stands, which summed up the game. Good point for Brighton, though.

Not a mention of Pröpper, still as you say game of opinions and all that, but WOW, "excellent, and rightly lauded."

The last ten minutes we struggled, end of the day, a well-earned point but should have been three.

Sorry - Propper was indeed lauded (praised, recognised, pointed out, highlighted if you prefer) by the match commentator/pundit during the game - specifically about how he'd brought some control back to the midfield for us. Just because one newspaper doesn't mention him doesn't mean it didn't happen..............

Excellent, hard-earned point I reckon. If we'd scored the pen I suspect the game would have been very different as Rodgers would have been forced into more action. Whilst we ceded a lot of possession in the 2H, Ryan never had a save to make.

I'm disappointed there's ANY negativity on this thread. Great performance, great point, fantastic belief and effort from all players to carry a threat in the first half and nullify Leicester in both halves. The opposition are 3rd FFS...and we were 99% excellent, even the subs did what they had to do. What's. Not.To. Like. 😎

Thought Trossard did some good tidying up as well pity he declined the shooting option he had created .

Hilarious NSC that miserable idiots are trying to find things to moan about after that performance and result.

Brilliant first half from the Albion.

Never going to get it all your own way at somewhere like Leicester. Our triple substitution stemmed the tide for a bit and meant we were only really under the cosh for the last few minutes - which we held out very well.

Love this new look young Albion side.

Well said sir.

Mac Allistair should be used to the heat . . . But probably not top half PL pace. Different gravy.

Mac was being asked to track back a lot, so not sure it was just a question of heat, but a slightly different role than he is used to.

One point that struck me, Leicester changed their formation to combat us. Think on that. Brendan Rogers put a team together that few Leicester fans had seen in order to counteract what he sees as our threats. The team that won the Prem a few years ago and are clear in third in the Prem changed their formation to counteract a "team like Brighton". Just wow.

Dan Burn on Talksport shortly......meanwhile, currently discussing the Maupay challenge on Leno again, and again everyone confirming Maupay was right to go for it. Despite all the wailing from Leno and the entitled :wanker:s, seems all he has is a moderate sprain anyway....................
