It's grim oop north
Argus says today definitely no chance extending Ridgwell loan which is a real shame.

the club obviously thought after Bolton game we'd have either LR or GB back - maybe they will be??

I don't see how. Although Bong has started running he isn't in full training yet, and Rosenior is even firther behind from what I can gather.

It doesn't help that this season in particular, the club seem to have put up a something of a smoke screen where injuries are concerned, so it's very difficult to ascertain the exact position.

Has anyone noticed that after this game we have a left back problem?
It's interesting to us fans that you've brought this to our attention, but we're not able to do anything about it. Have you tried contacting the club?

Now it would appear that we are going to Hull next Tuesday night, probably our biggest game of the season so far, without a recognised left back again.
I don't understand why this hasn't been fixed. Surely a left back on emergency loan isn't difficult to arrange?

I don't understand what all the faffing is about Goldson can play right-back.

Problem solved.

As has been said many times there are none available.
I apologise if I've missed the threads, I think the number of them has probably sent me to sleep, but... seriously? How can their be no left backs available in the top 2 divisions? A shortage of quality strikers I understand, as everyone wants them, but a basic left back - not even a great one, is not available. I can't believe it.

No nor me. I can only assume that the club presumed they would be able to extend the Ridgewell loan and/or that Bong would be fit enough to play. The trouble is that if we go for the 28 day emergency loan option, any player coming in won't know the club at all.

Kind of embarassing that we are in this position all over again really.

So you know that for a fact. The club have a policy of not updating supporters about every detail of every injured player. Completely understandable.

As for them coming back, last I heard from the Argus was Hughton saying Bong and Rosenior will be close to being available for the Saturday game (which seemed to mean Cardiff away). I have no information to prove that right but as far as I can see there's not been an update since to say the situation has changed. Yes, Hull is a big game to not have a left back but who is going to loan a left back to us for one game and what message would that send to Calde?

Yes, what an embarrassment for the club to be a shocking fourth in the league. What is embarrassing is some of our fans reaction on here.

We wouldn't have to tell them it's just for one game, and there's no guarantee it would be just one game. The message to Calde would be that he's our backup right back, not left back. And we need points, not to worry about whether Calde is happy he's not being asked to play out of position.

I trust that the club have been trying hard to find a solution, but I can't say I'm not worried.
