wonder if the club has considered selling at a discount e.g. £20 a head... or offering them to NHS people at that price as good marketing?

Don’t forget the transfer ticket option is now operational, so people not able to go will now be able to sell their tickets to friends. Means less chance of a sell out and exchange opening

I blame the ticket transfer policy of PREVIOUS seasons. Has meant a lot of those fans who previously would have gone when season ticket holders couldn’t have been lost. It’s easy to say people should be flocking but that reduced the number who were experiencing it and therefore the wider base was eroded.
And of course it’s holiday season. Every season there is a thread similar to this one in August. A lot of people are away.

As a casual fan who’s no longer a STH (living north London, new quite insecure job and very young kids), I can’t justify the cost or the time investment of making many games tbh. That’s mostly just my individual circumstances right now, but I’d be lying if i said the cost and the ball ache of getting to the Amex didn’t come in to it.

when I looked earlier this week there was loads of single seats available in North East and west not helpful if you want two or more together

I'm sorry, but why should NHS people get discounted tickets, I get fed up with NHS workers getting freebees/discounts when they are just doing their jobs!!! especially GP's who seem to become invisible.
I imagine most people will disagree with me but I had to get it off my chest.

Concessions are not a new thing eg OAPs and children. It’s nice that club do and they definitely enjoy a bit of PR from NHS gesture. Wonder if it extends to the 6 figure consultants?! But Understand where you’re coming from. I guess they have to draw a line or we’d all be making a case! Personally I’d like to see disabled persons given a significant price reduction. It simply costs more in every way if you’re disabled. And I don’t just mean financially.

Not surprising considering this mornings news, general inflation and the country moving to recession. ST renewals will fall in the midst of some even larger predicted cap rises which is bound to have an impact as for many it will be a luxury that has to go

Of course. If I didn't have a season ticket I really don't think I'd be spending c£70 for tickets for me and my lad for tomorrow. I'd certainly be thinking "that money could be put to better use elsewhere/" But that wasn't my point, really...
It wss the comparison with Newcastle, which did sell out which was also "holiday season", with the shadow of bad economic news hanging over us all.
I guess I'm surprised that Newcastle did sell out, but given it did, I'm now slightly surprised that the very next game hasn't.
But, as many others have pointed out, it is a bank holiday weekend and many folk will have other plans.

I still speak to quite a few people who won't even try to get tickets as " every game is a sell out" - maybe the club need to do a bit more to get the word out that there are tickets on general sale for most games and its worth having a look.

I don't know for sure but maybe it being the first home game of the season especially after the successful end of last season could have had an effect .
Regarding sell outs in general i think some fans will not consider it to be so until after the exchange has opened and all of those have sold .
Personally i still think that the squeezing up of seats to create extra availability has had a knock on effect on the ability to sell out a match with its double edged sword of reducing demand and increasing supply . It would not surprise me at all if we were to find that the Newcastle game turned out to be the exception and the Leeds game the normality .
Unless of course Graham continues to work his magic and we remain close to the top of the table !

Yep. its too early to say. The difference in terms of demand between Newcastle (sold out a few days before KO) , most of the games last season and Leeds (not quite sold out 24 hours before KO) demand is only a few hundred seats out of 31,000 or so - or a few hundred out of the 4-5000 match day tickets. I guess club will end up with 200-300 unsold tickets for Leeds although i'm sure they'd have hoped / perhaps expected to have shifted them given the early season form. But i'd say Its hard to look at any of the games (yet) and start to draw conclusions about pricing, cost of living, and so on - yet.
