The FL should just turn round and say "Our house our rules" or something to that effect IMHO

They did.
In that case I hope if it goes before a judge he not only rejects the appeal but (as can happen with unsuccessfully appealed legal sentences) increases the deduction.

On what basis.

1 Because they're trying to get away with not accepting the punishment for the crime.
2 Because I thought at the time that 15 points was lenient.

wouldn't it be funny if they were given back the 5 points, and still missed the playoffs? lets hope

The FL imposed a 15 point penalty and Leeds agreed to this so that they would be able to play in League 1 for the 07-08 season. The FL have been lenient as in my opinion Leeds should have dropped down to League 2. If they get any points back then the FL should revoke the "golden share" and expel them at the end of the season. Remember, when we were given a points deduction, the following season we had to lodge a £500k bond as a guarantee we would complete the fixtures and not breach ANY rules.

On the terraces!!
how the f*** can the league alter points this far into a season screwing up others' plans - surely the points situation will have to come into effect next season???

how is it "fair" on all the other "decent" clubs in the league?
