Leeds are going to find this league a lot harder than they may think... Get a poor return from the first few matches and that 65 points to avoid relegation will seem a long way off...

Wise first for the sack race?
I do hope not.
I want him to stay, suffer, and hopefully get ATTACKED at some point.

It makes me laugh seeing Wise bleating about being hard done by and 'it's unlikely any other clubs in our division supported us' - does he really think that they would do the same if it was a smaller club than leeds - say a macclesfield or a barnet ???

Bates wouldn't even cross the road to help another club in a similar situation, and I seem to remember him saying some pretty derogatory stuff about us a few years ago being 'a small club'

The Albion might not be splashing the money around, but I'm confident that DK is doing all he can to keep us afloat and we won't end like Leeds. I'd rather see my club operating within our means and not going up than borrowing money we ain't got and ending up in a mess, and I'm pretty confident Leeds won't be the last so called 'big club' to go through this.

In a few years where will some of the Premiership Clubs end up when their 'sugar daddy's' are gone ???

It true what they say about those you stand on on the way up isn't it, and that **** bates is finding out now that those you pass on the way up are the ones who won't help you on your way down.

f*** off bates :bigwave:

They are getting really touchy on their board, I think I'll lay low for a while.

:lolol: So he was not happy with the result. It could have been a whole lot worse and they are probably going to get away with paying only half of the money they owe! Obviously a man that is of limited intelligence and believes everything Ken Bates has told him. I love the way some of them act as though they are the first club to face the prospect of being wound up and they will have to 'rough it' in League One.

Was that on waccoe, RS?

you would be surprised just how many people swallow bates words as gospel and do not stop to think he is a business man playing everyone at their own game.

and he won.

but that other poster is right. we wont be putting any money into clubs other than our ticket prices. there is a definite campaign supported by the club about to start on that very note. well i say about in a loose sense.

i am looking forward to it. begrudgingly parted with our money to bates newco, renewed all our season tickets and because i am a kind dad i have gifted the little starrys with their own home and away packages (dont all call childline at once) off to tranmere (who have royally screwed their ticketing up) on saturday and genuinely looking forward to putting this page of leeds united history behind us. until sept 4th at least.

I would have thought there is a fair chance Wise will walk at some stage during the season. I don't think he really needs the money, and there must be easier options than the expectations he will be under with a crowd who will be ready to find a scapegoat when Bates scuttles back to Monaco.

And you really think that other teams care that your thuggish violent morons won't be paying any extra money to them. I reckon most of them would prefer it that none of you turned up in the first place starry.

I would prefer a ban on Leeds fans at away matches to be honest after some bad experiences in the 70's and 80's. Having said that I've been appalled at the behavior of some of our own 'fans' as well.

we have got the information from leeds that on average (a full cheese wedge - 1,800 fans) and bearing in mind we have sold out already our allocations, that are more than that that, away fans at leeds spend £18,600 on average per game. at leeds that is now four players weeks wages.

the police bill is more often than not doubled when we play away because as you say, we're a group of 'violent thuggish morons' but if clubs couldnt care less that they are going to miss out on money then we are all winners. we are saving our money and the other clubs are happy too. job done.

I registered on a Leeds notice board a couple of seasons ago, when we were both in the Champioship. They were a decent enough bunch (The Leeds equivalent of Brightonfans.com). Anyway I have just received an e-mail. Looks like they are boycotting expenditure at all clubs.

(E-mail Below)

A Boycott against away ground revenue

Administration is now a common part of football, particularly within
the lower leagues, infact since Tranmere went into administration 20
years ago, 41 more clubs have been put through the uncertainty and turmoil
of the process. Leeds United is the latest club to go through such
situations, and were deducted 10 points as a formality of going into
administration during the 2006/07 campaign, and were subsequently relegated.
However, during a lengthy period of wrangling between the club, the
football league, the administrators and the creditors the club were
deducted a further 15 points. In all this, the fans have received no
transparency and no explanation behind the deduction. The precedent set today
is dangerous, never before has a club had a 25 point deduction placed
upon them. This is a precedent that could affect those 71 other clubs in
the Football League in the future, so it was disappointing that they
voted with short-term ideas of getting an advantage over our club, r!
ather than the future of the game.

It is with this, that we ask all Leeds United fans to make their voices
heard, by boycotting all purchases made within away grounds, including
drinks, food and programmes. We can't influence the decisions made by
the other clubs, but we can at least hit them where it hurts, hopefully
resulting in a loss of profits.

My word that is pathetic.
Correct. Blame everybody else because we all feel justice has been done in part.

They'd be better off with a campain to get all those armchair fans back into their own stadium, which was barely half full for most of last season. And another campaign to kick out that snide greedy twat, Ken Bates.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
It is not as simple as just going into administration is it!? The lack of transparency surely comes from Bates!!

There may be ramifications for other teams, but didn't Boston get demoted by another division for a lesser 'offence'?

Regarding the future of the game, surely it would be far more dangerous to let Chairmen take the piss and potentially savage a club.

I think Leeds got off very lightly when they may well have be wound up if they were not allowed their golden share.

It's difficult to see what impact a Leeds boycott of "all purchases made within away grounds, including drinks, food and programmes" would have on the Albion.

The pub is a Harvester, the food outlets are franchised. Lost programme sales will be compensated by the fact that the Leeds fixture always attracts a few hundred more fans than, say, Port Vale.
