He's taking the piss ICY

Do him

punish:punish:

I don't care because we have zero chance of signing a guy who'd rather play for a team who probably won't pay him most months than play for us, and as I don't want us to sign him anyway anymore that's ok.

it was sold to the fictional Jacob Adler who has since sold it (or the majority of it) to an as yet unnamed person
So the ground was sold to a fictional person, and that fictional person has since sold it on to a mystery buyer.

:lolol:

You could\'t make it up. Only at Leeds.

interesting point here - the FL will capitulate and do so with the blessing of all clubs in our division since no one will want to face loosing 5% of their revenue if Leeds cant make thier fixtures. For many clubs it will be one of thier biggest gates of the season.

If they can't remain solvent, can't pay their players and can't fulfil their fixtures, then I think the FL would rather they didn't start the campaign at all.

"The League is concerned that KMPG's re-sale to Bates for an undisclosed sum does not include a Company Voluntary Arrangement, which forces Leeds to pay back creditors from any profits made.

Football League rules state that once in administration, the share can only be handed back to a club if a CVA has been agreed by the majority of the club's creditors. "

This seems cut and dried to me. It is now a case of whether the Football League have the bottle to enforce the rules. I am all for helping clubs in trouble but there comes a point when you have to take a stand against directors who are out to bully and screw everyone else for self gain. This is not now about a club falling on hard times. This is about a devious and manipulative chairman exploiting everything and everything for the benefit of himself.

Well said Mr Thumper.

If I hear the phrase "special dispensation" (in other words f*** the rules) when it comes to Leeds and West Sham this summer, I'll be rather irritated.

I think that is what it will come down to now Easy. :/

I just wish the drip drip drip of bad news and financial puzzles would stop, the FL would say yay or neigh and we could then do the appropriate jiggery pokey to fix, prevent, help or whatever and make sure that on August 11th, in admin or not, eleven Leeds players are on the pitch at Prenton Park.

I thought the deal with Bates required ALL football related debts to be paid in full before the football club was re-admitted to the fold by the Football League.

Or aren't debts owing to players in the category of "football related debts"?

No one knows what the deal with Bates' bid is. KPMG have assured us (all creditors) that we will receive documentation early next week (and they did not want to provide this) detailing his bid, why it was best for the club, what it entails, the debts, etc. etc. But at this point their word is worth diddly squat. For all I know Bates' bid could be two curly wurly's, a packet of wotsits and a secret handshake and nothing for the preferred creditors.

Mr.Bates no longer looks at football as a sport. He is old and twisted. He doesn,t care about Leeds United or their supporters. His "sport" now, is to see who will blink first....?

a) The Football League, by giving some sort of dispensation.........for the sake of Leeds United supporters...............Quite likely.

b) The Inland revenue, by accepting his derisory offer...........Not that likely, as I,m sure Mr.Bates did a similar thing many years ago with some business dealings. Hopefully the Inland revenue will take this opportunity to get even.

c) Mr.Bates comes clean and makes a proper offer................Never in a million years....!

Given Mr. Bates's reputation,I,ll go for option a). Another nail in the coffin of football.

Indeed. It's definitely a game of brinkmanship now, waiting to see who will blink first.

I do believe absolutely that Bates never thought it would go quite so wrong as it has. I understand that he thought he could go into admin, buy the club back a minute later as he tried and that would be it. Even when HRMC appealed (and the appeal is not about the money it was about the way KPMG over saw the vote) he knew those repercussions were first on KPMG rather then his NewCo.

I don't know how it will all turn out, I am certain it won't be in a good way though. Like you say, another nail in the coffin.

I,ve said it before....and I,ll say it again.......I wish you luck. I see no difference between Mr.Bates and Mr. Archer. Two business men using a football club as a vehicle to make money and enjoy the sport of "business", without a moments thought or any idea of what passion, football supporters have for their club.

Bottom line is, somewhere along the line, a lot of people are gonna end up getting royally shafted, which is sad. Credit to the PADSTER though for taking such an honest and objective stance on all this (unlike certain other posters I could mention when it comes to their clubs skulduggery).

"He's got money, we don't care". I wouldn't want to sell our soul or am I being too naive?

I don't think so B of F
I take pride in being a Brighton fan. Many may laugh, cos in the scheme of things, we are a small club playing in a joke of a stadium in front of a dwindling support. But I'm proud at how the club conducts itself. We hav't got a pot to piss in, but at least the Albion is being run by honourable men who are not out to break the rules, rip the piss out of anyone or f*** over all and sundry to make a buck. We havn't got much to show for it, true. But we are where we are, and I would hate for us to cheat our way anywhere else.

If Brighton did cheat their way, did do things that were dishonourable, what would you do?

Hopefully try and drive them out..just like last time. If, however, it was a moneyman not putting the club at risk but trying to shaft others, probably nothing :(

I'm actually very suprised that any Leeds fans' revolt against Bates is not more high profile, or is it that there is no revolt against him from the fans? If not why not?
