I would like a pound for the number of times this has been raised with an additional one for the numbers that say no way he is a crook a disgrace or whatever but forget his goalscoring ability.

sorry BG I didn't know if someone had made a thread before? But I had to raise a point that he is a very good striker and could play league one football maybe ..

It has been suggested many times with views mostly not related to his goalscoring or football ability but to his driving conviction for which he went to prison.

He's unsettled at Notts and he's f***ing awesome. One things for sure, he won't be with them next season...SIGN HIM UP!

If Schmeichel is on £1m, then I would imagine Hughes is on at least half that.

I won't attend any games with him playing for our team. A small loss, as I have only attended 10 home games in the last two seasons, but I wouldn't want to cheer him on.

Notts will want him off the wage bill this summer. They simply can't afford. We could get him for nothing. You would soon fall in-love mate if he got us 30 goals and the league 1 title as would all of us.

I am sure there will be plenty of suitors, but I'd like to think I wouldn't fall in love with him.

I can begin to forgive someone that has committed a heinous crime, but not someone that ran from the scene and failed to attend to the injured parties for the sake of his own salvation.

Why do you need to forgive he didn't commit a crime against you. I know what you're saying though, it could have you or me he crashed into. Innocent public members. We should all be more interested in what he can do on a football pitch for our club though. Rather than his private life. He did the time, and even met the child of one of his victims whilst in prison. That must have been difficult. Time to move on buddy

I don't personally need to forgive him, but I can't get over his crime and subsequent actions. I am willing to forgive people that make an error of judgemet, but he ran from the scene when he could have attended to the people he hurt/killed.

It just doesn't sit right for me. I know I am not perfect, but I would not have thrust myself back into the limelight if I had destroyed lives of various families and friends.

It may have been difficult to meet the families, but it would have been even more difficult to pull yourself out of your car, ring 999 and attend to the injured. He was a grown man at that stage. He fled the scene, thinking only of himself.

It was terrible what happened and so on. But be honest, how do any of us know how we would react in the same situation? We would like to think we would stay and help. But would we? You don't think straight in a situation like that. LH was clearly not thinking straight. And if you're all pissed up and freaked out by what you've just done, you might just push the panic button and flee. Not justifying what he did but it's not all black and white. I heard he turned himself into the cops pretty soon after accident.

This, it's too easy for people to be judgemental, yet if they were in the same messed up situation and not thinking rationally, they probably would've done the same thing.

Others may want to cheer him, sing his name, applaud him - but it's not for me. Same goes for other low-life like Joey Barton, John Terry, Cashley Cole. .
