90s at dozens of northern mill towns, very small away attendances then. Recall Bolton after we’d played Utd week before in Cup, counted 70-80 of us only. Nogan scored fabulous goal in the chewit wrapper kit and we won against an excellent Bolton side on the rise. Damp dark and foggy atmosphere! Typical late Jan 3rd division fayre!

February 2020. Bhafc women played Palace in Bromley in the cup. It was a bitterly cold week night and there can't have been more than 5 away fans.

By comparison must have been at least 30 - 40 at Charltonthe other week!

Plymouth Away in the ZDS Cup, we were poor but somehow won on pens, went down with a mate, stayed over and drove back the next day

Springfield Park @ Wigan cold Tuesday night 20th Oct 1987 total gate 2,392 our first ever game against Wigan Athletic and a cracker actually 3-3
I swear there were about 20-30 away fans, if that.

Was at that one, I think we had the whole end to ourselves abt 100 of us probably.Great trip that one.

Bristol city away QF of JPT around 2007 time was 230 I think.

I went to that. Can't imagine why!

I have three recollections of it.

1. A sub appearance late on, represented the entire Albion career of Scott Chamberlain.

2. Enoch Showumni scored. I remember this only because of how loudly, and excitedly the utter **** of a stadium announcer, BELLOWED it.

3. The aforementioned utter **** of a stadium announcer, reading out the ticketing arrangements for the final, at half-time (when it was only 1-0). I so, so wanted it to be his Sam Hamman 'please stay off the pitch at the end of the game' moment.

Ladies Away at MK Dons a few weeks ago, must have been about 16 of us.

What is the average for an away attendance for the ladies? I wouldn’t have thought this was far off, or do they have an away following?

Swansea away, a Friday night in November 1992.

57 of us for a league game. Andy Kennedy scored and we won 1-0.

Parked right outside the away end. Boulder thrown through side window of van. Covered me in glass. Two hours looking for perpetrators with police. Lock-in in my mum's pub in Neath until 4am.

Great trip.

I've been following the u21s in the Papa Johns/Bristol Street Motors trophy for a few seasons, we've had some very low turn outs in those (30's and 40's) which is a shame as its been interesting to observe the improvements in our youngsters. The lowest first team game is probably a league cup match in Swansea, a program was passed around for everyone in attendance to sign (i don't think we quite filled the front cover!)

Yep went to that very damp and foggy, remember it well, I went with a mate from our student share house in Manchester who supported Pompey, the following season I had to go back to Burnden Park to watch Portsmouth because Bolton went up to the first division.

I went on a whim to St James Park when we had a really deep run into the FA Youth Cup during Withdean days. We played against a Newcastle team featuring Kazenga. Maybe a dozen or a couple of dozen

When I worked for 90 Minutes football magazine in the 1990s I had to take two competition winners to a Third Division match in Luxembourg between FC Koeppchen Wormeldange and Old Boys Consdorf. There were nine people in our 'end'.

Preston. north end in 1975ish. Me, my dad and my brother went. Can’t remember if any other Brighton fans were there…I think we got dixked at home 4-0 and Bobby Charlton was their manager.

4 of us, mum, dad, me and my brother when we were living in melksham in 1972 and Brighton were a huge laugh of a team who got hammered by rovers 8-2 , went to Cardiff vs Huddersfield when there was only us 4 Huddersfield fans in the ground and we lost 4-1. It was horrible even then!

Didn't see that one as I had moved over here by then but I did see the FA Youth Cup ties at Everton in January 2000 and Villa Park in February 2002.

Lowest total attendance for a Brighton home game I was at was the 1-1 vs Orient in the league gup in August 97. 1,073.

We had only the Rainham end. I don't recall there being any away fans. But that could be they were just isolated dots in the far distance.

Barnsley away in the League Cup 1980/81. Tuesday night and we went 1-0 in the first minute from Steve Gatting, before they bullied up for the rest of the match and scored four and it could have been more. Their fans were very loud and we had a tiny pen with no more than 40-50 who had made the journey.

Sunderland away at Roker Park 1980/81. Last away match of the season, and most had written off our chances of avoiding relegation so had made other plans. Howver victories at Palace and home to Leicester in the previous two matches gave us a chance. Sunderland were in the relegation area too. Probably only double figures made the trip, and a Gary Williams last minute goal gave us victory, with Mullery dancing over the pitch at the final whistle. We beat Leeds in the final match of the season to confirm position in the old First Division and Stan Cummins scored the only goal at Anfield for a Sunderland victory that kept them up too.,

Norwich away, Simod or Zenith Data cup, 1989. Lost 5-0 in front of between 40 - 60 of us. They still split us between the seats and terrace! Once the fourth went in we did the conga round the terrace, led by a bloke with Norwich City knickers on his head. Water balloon fight on the train home, walk through London (navigated by a very drunk Doc) in the middle of the night to get from Liverpool St to Victoria, train to Gatwick, two hours kip in the seats above check in, home.

One bloke still managed to get nicked (RIP Rotty)
