I did not spot any other Brighton fans when I went to a 3-2 defeat to West Ham U21 at the Rush Green Stadium on the 27th February 2023. So that possibly 1.
I was there. I seem to remember Gary Hart sitting with us for a while.Friendly away at Stansted around 2007. In single figures
We used to blag a lift on the team coach occasionally 'up north' in those days, e.g Queens Hotel in Manchester to Oldham. Archie Macaulay used to pass the decision of giving us a lift to the travelling director, Len Stringer. The transport they hired at Barrow to get to the train station was a normal corporation single-decker bus!Workington away on a Friday night in 1967 don't think the away support was in double figures. We lost! The manager archie macauley was so surprised to see us at Carlisle Station he gave us a lift in the team coach to Workington and gave us tickets for the match
Was that the replayed game after one was abandoned a few weeks earlier due to heavy rain ? There were more of us there - but fairly incognito!Leyton Orient October 1968.
A 3-2 defeat, there was no segregation, I was standing amongst the Orient fans, and it seemed like I was the only Brighton fan there!
I now officially feel like a bad fan as those were the only two games I missed that season48.
Zenith Data Cup First Round @ Plymouth in November 1990.
When I look back it seems insane that I made that trip. I went to Newcastle for a postponed match a couple of weeks or so later.
Barnet at home at Gillingham on Bonfire night.
That must go down as our lowest home league attendance playing away from Sussex, if you know what I mean 🫣
I was anticipating something similar at the business end of 16/17 and my results prediction had us getting promoted due to Huddersfield dropping points at a mid-week game at Wolves (with us not playing). I'd even made tentative plans to travel down with a Wolves supporting work colleague - I can't believe I'd have been the only BHA fan there if it had come to that.I think I was the only Albion fan at a game where we got promoted if that counts!
Tranmere v Reading in 2002. Reading fans didn’t appreciate my “We are going up” flag
That's a fantastic story, and a great experience.Workington away on a Friday night in 1967 don't think the away support was in double figures. We lost! The manager archie macauley was so surprised to see us at Carlisle Station he gave us a lift in the team coach to Workington and gave us tickets for the match
I recall they thought there was going to be around 2000 of us up there80ish. Tranmere away on a Tuesday night. One coach load + a few more. Bob Paisley in the stands casting an eye on Lawro who only went and got sent off. It was the second leg I think we went through 4-2 on aggregate.
Was that the Torquay game where the turnstiles froze so they collected the admission money in plastic buckets outside the away end ?Two spring to mind. Fulham away in the Autoglass Trophy, early 1990s. Got absolutely battered. Just checked and the full attendance was 1,135 and couldn't have been more than 50 away fans. For a league match, Torquay away on New Year's Day in the great escape season. Maybe 200 away fans. Was also the coldest I've ever been at an away game. Was so cold in fact the stewards moved us off the small open terrace and into the main stand.
Hull away in the what must have been mid 60s -they were on a good run and I think the crowd was about 25,000 -there were about 15 of us, as I recall. Needless to say -we lost!80ish. Tranmere away on a Tuesday night. One coach load + a few more. Bob Paisley in the stands casting an eye on Lawro who only went and got sent off. It was the second leg I think we went through 4-2 on aggregate.
