[Football] Leandro Trossard **Sold To Arsenal 20/01/2023**

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
About this 20 goal a season striker everyone thought we no longer needed....

I'm not convinced that swapping a forward for another defender is what is required.

Give it time. Lose tomorrow and it will be because this has upset the squad, there's division team trossard v team RDZ, no one getting on, and it's all over and we're heading down the table and the league and no one will sign for us, as we can all see with no signings in this window and we still can't take our flasks in!
Haven’t we just signed a player today?

Yup. No way RDZ is bullshitting- it would totally undermine him. Unless he knows every other player is on his side.
An agent releasing a statement like this is snide and tacky and reeks of the player being the issue. It's a sorry end to a wonderful Albion career.

This feels like the right time for Leo to move on. It could be quite painless if a 25m bid comes in… What price do everyone else think Bloom will want ?

Of course Trossard agent was going to shift the blame, he's hardly going to come out and admit his client has a poor attitude and insulted the manager and left training without permission.

I don't imagine RDZ would say the stuff he's said without it being true, as it would do him no favors with the other players.

Cash in, move on. I would like to see the club invest in a "game changer" though, and not a piece for the future. We need to replace Tross with a ready now player.
I think Mitoma’s already that player on the left.

With Gross and Lallana more than capable of being the creative no 10.
….. every week …. not disappearing for entire games and halves.

But it is always great to augment our squad with quality.

Hardly the agent's fault, is it? Agents in all walks of life just do what their clients tell them to do (as well as negotiate contracts/moves etc).

Tbh, I don't know who's at fault based on that statement, and I don't really care. It could be the manager is abrasive and hasn't managed him very well, it could be the player having a strop over nothing. All I know is that both sides need to sort this out otherwise both sides will lose out.
We have to close rank here for the good of the club……. It’s ok Leo,, it’s time to move on now, No rights or wrongs.

Unless I've missed something, you must be referring to buonanotte who we agreed a deal for in November, took effect on January 1st and is expected to go into the academy*, rather than a first team. Plus, my post was meant to be a tongue in cheek example of the panicky rants we'll see if we lose tomorrow rather than an accurate reflection of reality.

EDIT: *According to wikipedia when I googled. Can't discount someone has now gone and edited it.

Still in Brighton
As Bloom is becoming well known for playing hardball and getting huge fees (White and Cucurella) I'm not surprised that when a player simply decides he wants out Right Now (Jan window) that things get a bit dramatic. Not everyone wants to play the patient long game. It's a shame because I've always liked watching Tross, particularly since he stopped aiming for the crossbar/post. I'm not entirely sure we'll get the fee we want now but anything around the Bissmark is ok, I guess. As for DeZ's style, he may be being honest but not a fan of washing dirty linen in public.

That’s been decided has it? I rather got the impression RDZ wanted him for the first team this season, after some initial training.

Thanks Leo you little bell end.

As a result of your petulance we are going to extend your contract for a further season, therefore until the end of the current season, please train and play with the Under 23’s, in the meantime we will discuss what we see as an appropriate offer to allow you to move on in the summer.

Best wishes Mr Bloom.

I’d love this to happen. Trigger the extension and then just completely sideline him.

I can’t imagine that’d be the atmosphere should we lose tomorrow.
We’re playing the best/most exciting football at least I’ve ever seen Brighton play, with the best squad and top management team.

Win, lose or draw tomorrow, that view shan’t change my view.

I can't believe all the "get rid". You can't seriously believe we are better off selling him, he is our highest goalscorer this season. I hope he sees the error of his ways, apologises and knuckles down and we see the old Leo again. We are a better side with him in our team for sure. I don't think he will do this but lets not kid ourselves that we are better off getting rid of him. I suspect we now won't get that big fee as a result of all this.

He doesn't want to play for us, RDZ thinks his attitude stinks. We are better off without him now. Who cares how much we get? I'd sell him for £10 million. It's unfortunate but these things happen. We move on.

I guess you saw the damage Ronaldo did at Man U? De Zerbi (and us) can do without people who don’t want to be here. We’ve shown that we can actually come out of it better
